A short walk from from Canonbury Overground, Clissold Park and a good selection of local shops (food, coffee, other important things). Also easy to get to Highbury & Islington station, Stoke Newington Church Street and Finsbury Park.
After three years, the largest room in our house is now available to someone new. As you'll see from the photos, it has massive windows and excellent light - the windows face north (so the light is even, without direct glare) onto our quiet little backstreet. It has been a great place to weather the home-working realities of the pandemic.
The room is on the first floor and comes with a double bed, wardrobe, chest-of-drawers and some bookshelves.
You will be sharing the house with Maddie (36, she/her, Australian, works in finance); Shirin (29, she/her, Londoner, research scientist); Chris (41, he/him, English, architect/lecturer) and Diana (3, she/her/"little shit", Londoner, cat). We are all fully vaccinated (except the cat).
The house is "2.5 bathrooms" - one massive bathroom; an en suite shower room and separate loo. Whoever takes this room will primarily be using the big bathroom (with brilliant shower) with two others.
The house is pretty big. The ground floor has a living room (TV with most major streaming services); dining room (used by Maddie for home working until September) and big kitchen (two fridges between four of us). The garden is a good size and has been brilliant during lockdowns. If you're a keen gardener, we'll happily follow your lead in doing wonderful things with it!
During the pandemic all four us were working from home and thankfully the house has plenty of space for that (two working from their large bedrooms, the other two working from dining and/or living rooms). In the future we expect that one or two of us might be working from home on any given day, but rarely more than that (hopefully).
Some of us drink, some of us don't. Some of us are regular gym goers or cyclists, others are not. While we love a celebration (some pretty good dinner and dancing evenings during lockdowns) this is definitely not a party house (even before the pandemic). Our preferences are to live with a fully vaccinated non-smoker who is content to live with a beautiful cat who does shed a fair bit of hair. Beyond that, we'd like to think we're an actively inclusive group. All are welcome.
Bills are council tax (Islington); gas, water, electricity, TV license, broadband and a cleaner (just restarting the latter after the pandemic).
It is likely that we might arrange a Zoom call to meet interested people before arranging viewings. The room is available now but we will not be rushing to fill it as our landlord would rather we find the right person.
If there's anything we've missed, please ask. We look forward to hearing from you.
