Canalside double room

The house!

My girlfriend and I are really sad to be leaving this great house, in a private gated area on the canal (you might see her ad up here too!)

My girlfriend has lived here for 3 years and we're only going due to the current situation, but it means there's a great room available!

The other (remaining) housemate is an easy-going, friendly Canadian chef, who likes all the usual stuff: food, drink, TV, sport, and exploring on bikes. We really enjoy living in our cosy, friendly home so he is looking to find new like-minded, friendly, tidy housemates.

More about the house:

The house is within a 'mews' which includes some shared outside space with the other units where you can sit and enjoy a cuppa or a wine. The outside space has been a godsend during lockdown!

The three bedrooms and shower room are upstairs. Downstairs is a large open plan kitchen and living room (including a spot for a dining table) and toilet.

The room has a double bed and is nice and bright (huge window so loads of light) with a view of a lovely part of the canal. It fits a wardrobe, chest of drawers, side table and built-in shelf. You could fit a desk in if you rearranged, and the landlord would be fine to remove furniture if you wanted to do that.

Otherwise, there's also plenty of common space to WFH from, which we've been doing fine since March.

The rent is £650 and bills come down to around £80 - including broadband, council tax, utilities. Landlord is private so no agency fees, and is generally pretty responsive.

Room is available towards start of December, but we can be flexible.

The surroundings:

In a great location! Haggerston station is a few minutes away. Lots of different bus options on Kingsland Road too and you can easily walk to Old Street. And of course we are right next to Regent's Canal, lovely to walk along towards Broadway Market in one direction, Islington in the other.
