THE FLAT:
Modern 1st floor, two bedroom flat with underfloor heating and a pretty spacious open plan kitchen/living room. There is a juliette balcony in the living room. There’s a main bathroom (used by me) and an en-suite in the room which is for rent. There’s also a porch area with space for shoes and coats. There are bike racks outside but a bike can also be kept in the porch if needed.
THE ROOM:
The room is a decent size, is furnished, has a large wardrobe and the en-suite. It also has a juliette balcony. There’s no space for a desk in the room due to the layout, but the living room has plenty of space and that’s where the current flatmate works from.
LOCATION:
The location of the flat is really good: Less than 5 minutes’ walk to both Kennington and Oval stations (Northern Line), and around 15 minutes walk to Vauxhall (Victoria Line and trains). There are several bus stops just around the corner, as well as a 24/7 Nisa and a Post Office. Kennington Park is also just across the road.
ME:
I’m Ross, 28, originally from Cumbria and have been living in London (and in this flat) for four years. I work as Head of Operations at a startup, and spend my time seeing friends, heading to the gym, and making the most of London life. I currently work from home about three days a week and my desk is in my room.
NEW FLATMATE:
I treat the flat as a home and would ideally like to live with someone who's sociable, but also independent and happy doing their own thing. Looking for someone happy to commit to a 12-month tenancy. Due to the desk in the living room it probably wouldn’t suit someone who works fully remote.
THE DETAILS
> Contract Start Date: 17th August (this is fixed due to me currently being in the flat and the current flatmate leaving)
> Rent: £1,175 per month
> Bills: ~£215/month each (includes electricity, gas, broadband, council tax, and a cleaner twice a month)
> Please note: the desk in the living room and the tv belong to my current flat mate and will be leaving. There is an older tv that comes with the flat.
