What the Opportunity Involves:

In return for the low-cost accommodation (£240 pm), we are looking to match our lovely homeowner with a kind and easy-going sharer who is happy to provide some practical support and companionship, and a reassuring presence at night. No personal care is permitted in a Homeshare.

Our sociable and open homeowner is in her mid-80s. Originally from Germany, she came to the UK in her 20's as an au pair to experience living overseas and remained after meeting her English husband who sadly passed away two years ago.

She is looking to share her home with a friendly caring person who is happy to provide a little practical support, and companionship.

Our homeowner is still fairly active, although diagnosed with Parkinsons and walks with a stick. She still enjoys spending time in the garden, a trip to Brent Cross and going to an art class.

She used to be a keen cook and enjoys good food. She now enjoys a fairly simple daily routine listening to music and watching television programmes and the news. Her son lives nearby and is very involved in her day-to-day life popping in regularly.

This opportunity would suit a quiet and gentle person (our Homeowner's preference is to share with a female) who is either working or studying from home or on a hybrid/flexible basis.

Someone caring, patient and tidy to help with simple meals, accompany our Homeowner on occasional local grocery shopping trips and provide a reassuring presence at night.

Practical support would include helping generally with tasks that our Homeowner finds difficult such as putting the bins out, doing the laundry, putting clean sheets on as well as some local errands (e. g. collecting prescriptions and posting letters).

This is a monthly facilitation fee for our matching and ongoing monitoring service. You do NOT pay any rent to the homeowner but will be asked to pay a small monthly contribution towards bills. (Full time students are exempt from council tax.)
