Double Room (Small) With Roof Garden!

SMALL DOUBLE ROOM WITH ROOF GARDEN!
We have a very small cosy double room with french doors that walk onto a roof garden. This room has just enough room for the bed and a small desk but is perfect for someone who doesn't need to much space in their bedroom and is either working a lot or out of the house quite a lot - perfect for someone who is studying or someone who just needs to be in london for some of the week.
This is a really really cosy room with sumptuous dark red walls and an oak floor and because it looks out onto a rooftop full of plants you often feel like you could be somewhere in the countryside.
There is a small fold away desk and there is space above the bed for storing clothes etc...

INFO ON THE HOUSE :
Welcome to our beautiful edwardian house in the Bowes Park/Wood Green Ladder area.
Lots of original features and wood floors throughout.

We are looking for someone with a calm, tidy with a friendly nature.
We need a person who is responsible & independent, yet also likes to chat with with the other people in the house.
Everyone here at Sylvan Avenue is chilled and thoughtful and above all TIDY! - This is what makes it a lovely place to live.

ABOUT THE HOUSE:
The house is a wide tree lined street and is just next to a lovely big park for jogging/ dog walking (although please note: NO PETS ALLOWED IN THE HOUSE!).
The lounge downstairs is big and there are 2 lovely big sofa's for kicking back and watching films/ tv etc.
There is one bathroom which is simple & functional as well as 2 toilets. We have a utilities room clothes washing/ hanging and we also have a beautiful garden here at Sylvan so it would be lovely if we could find someone who liked gardening.

LOCATION & TRAVEL LINKS:
We are 10mins walk to both Wood Green tube (Picadilly Line) and Bowes Park (overland train) and 25mins tube ride from Soho and Central London.
If you have a bike it takes about 15 mins to the nice shops & cafe's at Crouch End but no more than a short bus ride to Alexandra Palace, Crouch End & Muswell Hill (great restaurants/cafes/health food shops etc). There are really good bus stops at the bottom of our road with direct night bus links into soho etc..
There is also a nice little Italian restaurant on the edge of the park near us, which does good pizza and breakfast. 3 mins away is a great new bar called 'The Step' good for wine, beers, food, live music & DJs.
The house is a warm and friendly home and we are looking for like minded people to share the space with.

ABOUT US:
My name is Tom, and I own the house with my partner Mariana.
I am a professional songwriter & Mariana works for a charity.
We have just had a baby girl and recently moved to Oxford but
we have the loft apartment in the house and so i (Tom) will mainly be in and out as i also have my recording studio in the local area where i work

Everyone in the house is pretty independent and most people in the house tend to do there own thing but we all like to chat to each other and sometimes share some food. You will be sharing the downstairs facilities with 4 other people. 2 are French, 1 is italian.
We are laid back and easy going and want someone who is equally chilled. All of us care about who we live with and it is important that when we get home none of us have to worry about doing someone else's washing up - so thoughtfulness is essential.

Violet, a former student of (the infamous) Mountview Theatre School in Wood Green lived with us and here is what she says about her time at Sylvan Avenue:

"œI lived at Sylvan Avenue the whole time I studied at Mountview Drama School and loved it. Its a 10-minute walk to the tube or my school class. Its on a quiet street next to a leafy park. The house itself is gorgeous, homely, spacious and light with beautiful furnishings. It has been a real haven for me in such a busy city and I would always look forward to getting home a clean a chilled house. It has a really lovely garden and is close to some great Greek restaurants and now a funky bar has just opened up.'
