HAUS OF KARMA
Looking for chilled and balanced people to share my beautiful home.
*** PLEASE READ ***
With respect and kindness, please read the listing fully before applying.
Due to large numbers of responses, I won't be able to respond to applicants outside of the criteria I've specified.
I won't be able to answer questions that are already answered in the listing.
*** If you're male, thank you for acknowledging the criteria outlined under "PEOPLE" below ***
Spacious open plan living area & kitchen
Space to work in large bedrooms
High speed broadband
1 large balcony
1 small balcony
Communal roof terrace
Large dining table
The rooms have been rearranged and decorated a little since the pics were taken. Please get in touch for a video or in person tour.
Bedroom 1 is my personal bedroom, and is available for 1-4 months this November. Short term lets only while I travel, and I have flexibility on dates. I can consider couples for this room only.
It has a superking sized bed with premium mattress and loads of storage underneath. There's large fitted wardrobe with shelving and hanging space, one chest of drawers, and bedside table. The room has blackout blinds and also linen curtains that let beautiful light through in the mornings whilst maintaining privacy. The lighting, lamps and decor will remain in the room for you to enjoy during your stay.
Bedroom 2 includes a desk, good sized wardrobe with drawers, and a bedside table. The comfy double bed (with high quality mattress) lifts up easily to reveal plenty more storage. The room also has blackout blinds. No couples in this room.
Bedroom 3 offers a small wardrobe, and a large amount of storage under the double bed (with the same epic mattress as in bedroom 2). Blackout blinds also. No couples in this room.
*** The small bedroom isn't suitable for people with a LOT of belongings, or who need to work from home ***
We're in Zone 1 and so it's very easy to get in and out of the city:
- 1 minute walk from bus links into Central London
- 10min cycle or 12min bus to Elephant and Castle Station
- 7min cycle or 22min walk to Bermondsey Station
- 14min cycle or 24min bus to London Bridge station
- 2min cycle from Quietway 1
The closest supermarket is a 1min walk (just cross the road!), plus there are other supermarkets each around 8-15mins walking distance from the property. Marks and Sparks is a short cycle away if you're feeling fancy.
Borough and Maltby Street Markets are nearby, and the lesser known but equally lovely St James Market is even closer.
We have plenty of restaurants and shops nearby, and lots of options on Deliveroo and UberEats.
Southwark's largest park, Burgess Park, is a 5min walk away, and Southwark Park itself is an 18min walk. There are also a number of smaller green spaces nearby.
The roof terrace has sunrise views of Canary Wharf (same view from the large balcony), and the garden and adjoining car park provide even more great outdoor spaces to hang out or exercise.
There's a gated car park with secure indoor bicycle storage. You may be able to hire a car parking space from one of our neighbours (just ask and I'll put you in touch).
WORKING FROM HOME
There's high speed broadband, and we get fantastic natural lighting during the day - great for video calls and filming.
The small bedroom isn’t suitable for WFH, so I can’t accept applicants who’ll need to do so.
Ideally I'm looking for women in their thirties to enjoy the space with. This household is LGBQT+ friendly.
I'm very happy to consider male applicants with a basic understanding of feminism, and please acknowledge this in your application. I won't be able to respond to applicants who don't mention this important point. This is in order to maintain a safe and respectful environment.
I'm sorry to say my beautiful dog in the pictures is no longer with us. I do still take on some dog training/sitting work infrequently, and there are sometimes dogs in the property for short periods.
Everything is kept neat, tidy and organised, and I pay a housekeeper to visit every week. She's wonderful, and you can pay her for additional tasks such as ironing if needed.
It's a very liveable space and so there's flexibility for stuff to be left around from time to time, however this home may not be suitable for you if you're very messy or don't like to take pride in your environment.
The neighbours are kind and respectful, and I maintain a good relationship with them.
I love good conversation and will happily enjoy a movie/games night (or a night out, pandemic permitting) with you, but mostly am a quiet and peaceful person who enjoys time alone to recharge. I sometimes have friends over for dinner/parties on the weekends.
If you feel it's a good fit, get in touch. Looking forward to hearing from you =)
