We have a large double room to rent in a lovely shared flat in Forest Hill. We are close to all the local shops, delis, cafes, Library, swimming pool and the Horniman Museum and park which has stunning views over London. We are less than a 10 mins walk from Forest Hill and Sydenham overground stations which are on the London Overground line and mainline trains to London Bridge (20 mins) and Victoria (40 mins).

The flat is raised ground floor in a Victorian villa that was converted by famous local architect Edward Christmas and has many original features. We have a wonderful and very large communal garden that is shared by other residents in the building. It is a sun trap in the summer and perfect for chilling out in the evening with a beer – and you can often find company of a few of the neighbouring cats and dogs who like to say hello!

The room is large and comes furnished with a double bed, chest of drawers, desk and two wardrobes. There is room for other items of furniture too.

The rest of the flat has a shared sitting room, one bathroom and kitchen/dining area and has washing machine/dryer, dishwasher etc. It is such a spacious flat – the photos don’t do it justice!. We realise the decor is a little dated but the flat has such a cosy and warm feeling – don't let that put you off.

I am moving out and my housemates – Chris and Sarah – are looking for a professional male or female to take the room (sorry no couples). They are both quite busy with work but are often home in the evenings and like to chat over dinner or a beer or two and like doing the local pub quiz when the mood takes us – we're getting pretty good! Chris works at Goldsmiths as a post-doc researcher in neuroscience and Sarah is a civil servant (they are not a couple).

The rent is £770pcm and includes all bills. The deposit is £750pcm and the room is available from 11 April 2020.

We rent the flat through an agency and you will need to provide them with references from your previous landlord and employer too. Our landlord Victor lives in Spain and is great at fixing things when needed etc.
