Room in sunny, spacious flat

Living room

Hi, I’m looking to fill a furnished medium-large room in a spacious, bright flat in New Cross/Deptford that I’ve lived in for the past 2.5 years. The biggest one of the three rooms is occupied by my partner and me, the small one by a professional female who works office hours but is also into the arts, and there's a third room available.

THE FLAT:

-Room is 650pcm (bills not included).

-Bills: council tax is 26£pp pm, electric is with top-up key and everything else is around 30-40£pp pm depending on the season.

-Postcode: SE8 4BB

-Move in date is March 14. The room comes with a bed and a closet (if you need more stuff, Deptford Market is 50 metres away and they have all sorts of cheap furniture)

-Flat has two floors; kitchen and living room downstairs and everything else upstairs.

-The room has a built in storage space, but if you need more space there is some under the stairs.

-Room overlooks the estate = no actual streets nearby = silence at night

-Large & sunny South-facing living room that looks onto our lovely garden.

-...Lovely garden with a bit of space to plant your veggies if that's what you're into. (I might start this year.) Table and chairs for summer hangouts.

-Ample kitchen with gas stoves, plenty of storage, and washing machine.

-Split bathroom. Bathtub. Good water pressure. Reliable boiler. Serious radiators.

-Nice big windows everywhere in the flat = maximum daylight! :)

-Nice neighbours

-We don't have an allocated parking space however my flatmate had a car and he never had a problem parking (for free) around here. I don't know much about this but I know there's options

THE AREA:

-The area is great! If you don’t know Deptford/New Cross, I’d recommend that you take some extra time to go for a walk in the area if you come for a viewing; New Cross is lively and full of interesting shops and cafés, and Deptford is one of London’s hidden gems. It’s a very multicultural area, home to a lot of live music, art galleries, Deptford Market, afrocaribbean and other international shops, and the food selection around here is brilliant and inexpensive. (Also there’s a gym that's 5mins walk and it has a swimming pool and a sauna)

-Transport links are much better than you'd expect - once you get your head round it, you can get pretty much anywhere in central London within 30mins from the doorstep. Takes a while to get used to all the options, but there's apps for that ;)

ABOUT US:

I'm 32 and my partner is 29. We're both full-time musicians (me, piano and composer; him, piano and percussion) but we're not crazy loud and we like to keep it chill in the house. We are both smokers but we only smoke out on the porch or in the garden. We're both native Spanish speakers (Spanish-Cuban-Argentinian) and communicate in Spanish between us, but we both speak English too. However if you’re a Spanish speaker or you want to improve your Spanish, that’s also great. My partner is often out teaching in the daytimes and gigging in the evenings, and I'm mostly working from home with some gigs in the evenings here and there but a lot of the time I'm away on tour, so if you have a 9-to-5 this is ideal because it means everyone gets to have their space in the house; however, this is not a dealbreaker.

My partner trained in a conservatoire as a classical musician; I have a masters degree in social anthropology (which did nothing for my career, however, it means I like to read books and have interesting conversations with people). We both like to cook nice meals and have a nice glass of wine or two here and there.

LOOKING FOR:

-Late 20s - late 30s
-Reasonably tidy
-Not completely insane - preferably easy-going and, well, just nice!
-Preferably looking for people with office hours jobs so that we don't all have the same timetable.
-Hablas español? Even better
-Any gender/orientation
-This flat is a haven of peace and good vibes, so if you want to have big gatherings, parties, be super loud all the time etc this is not the right place for you <3 (things that currently happen in the living room are Netflix, reading, yoga, chess and meditation).

PLEASE , NO machomen who don't clean the house, NO racists sexists xenophobes, and no *extremely* untidy or *extremely* OCD people either please, thanks :)
