Double Room Near Newham Hospital For Cat-Lover

Hi, we are looking for a housemate for a super sunny double room on the ground floor of a gorgeous 4 bedroom house that has all the mod-cons (really, think USB plug sockets) and a small garden with a patio and grass.

As all the other bedrooms are upstairs, it feels very private and for most of the time, you would have dibs on the downstairs bathroom.

The house is in a very safe neighbourhood (we know and like our neighbors), close to public transport (Plaistow, Canning Town [yay night tube], Stratford, Upton Park and also lots of buses [with direct buses to Stratford, City airport and Aldgate]) and shops. There is a Tesco close by as well as a number of cafes and some pubs. It's also walking distance to Newham Hospital and some parks.

The room is 780 with all bills including a cleaner every two weeks - although you would be expected to pitch in about £10 every few months for cleaning products, toilet paper etc. Deposit is one month's rent that will be held in a third party deposit scheme.

The house was completely refurbished last year, so everything is new and works perfectly. It has a generous lounge with comfy sofas (both are sofa beds as we like having guests - and you'd be welcome to have friends stay over as well) and a large kitchen that opens in to the garden. There are 2 bathrooms (one with a bathtub and the other with a shower). The room is well set up and has plenty of storage (it comes fully furnished). There is also space for your stuff on bookshelves in the lounge and in the cupboards in the kitchen.

You would have access to all the mod-cons: washing machine, dishwasher, fancy oven (that can steam veggies), massive hob, big TV, fire stick, amazon echo, super fast fibre broadband etc.

You would be sharing with three women, all in their mid-30s. I'm a business journalist that travels a lot, but is very sociable, quite geeky and enjoys board games. Although I'm a live-in landlord, I'm looking for a dynamic where we act as housemates (although I'll keep the house in good condition). One of my housemates is a writer and works from home at the moment. She is hard of hearing but having the subtitles on our netflix account sorts any issues there :)
The third is a lovely Bulgarian girl who is extremely sociable, great fun and can easily be talked into a glass of wine or some chocolate.


There are also two friendly rescue cats named Peanut and Pudding that have the run of the house and all the bedrooms (although they can be kicked out when it's time to sleep). They are very friendly and always up for a cuddle.
We definitely think of this as our home rather than a house and we would like the new person to do the same. We respect privacy and don't expect you to always want company, but we would like to live with someone who wants to be part of the household.

We are hoping to find someone geeky who enjoys socialising together (think watching netflix on the sofa with a glass of wine), boardgame nights or going to the pub - as well as the occasional house party) but also has their own interests and is respectful of communal space. We will have the occasional BBQ or house party but often have people over for dinner or movie night. We would be happy for the new housemates to join us and invite their friends.

The cats have a run of the house and are used to being invited into rooms for cuddles, so being cat friendly is a MUST.
