Hello :) The second bedroom in my 2 bed end-of-terrace house is available, on a quiet road but 5 minutes walk from Norwood Junction station!
Looking for a Young Professional who's driven and switched on, keeps active and is sociable.
About me:
I’m 29, I work for a tech startup but since March have been more or less fully remote (I have a desk setup in the loft so I’m out of the way during the day).
At weekends I'm normally visiting friends, sailing during the summer or doing something else outside! When I am at home I'm easy going, social but happy to leave you to do your own thing too. I like to keep the place clean & tidy, and if you're environmentally conscious too that's a plus - minimising waste, energy usage, water etc. all good things to be into!
I'm happy to cover the council tax, internet etc. bills, but we'll split the utilities only (gas, electricity, water) - shouldn't come to more than an average of about £30 per month each.
The house:
-> South-facing room in end-of-terrace '2-up-2-down' - lots of space & storage
-> Separate living room and dining room
-> South-facing garden (I want to do this up in the spring!), garden table & chairs + BBQ for the summer
-> Brick shed (+ side access) for bike storage
-> Parking is on-street, but permits are only £80 a year if you want one - the next road along has no parking restrictions for visitors etc.
The area:
-> <5 mins walk to Norwood Junction train station
-> Sainsbury's Local round the corner
-> Large ALDI outside Norwood Junction station
-> Some great pubs / restaurants opening up in the area recently
-> South Norwood Country Park close by (great for a run - there's a parkrun if you're into that!)
Getting other places in London:
The transport links from Norwood Junction are one of the main reasons I chose to buy a place in this area.
As a real life example of the commute time into town, I work just near the 'walkie talkie' and door-to-door I'm at work in 35 minutes. Some more detail on the various routes possible from Norwood Junction:
-> London Bridge - 15 mins - 'no-stop' services into London Bridge, which (with a 5 min walk to the station) means 20 mins from the front door to London Bridge if timed right!
-> Thameslink direct line through Blackfriars (20 mins), City Thameslink, Farringdon, St. Pancras (30 mins)
-> London Overgound to Dalston via. Canada Water (22mins), Whitechapel, Shoreditch (32 mins)
-> Southern service to Victoria (35 - 40 mins) via. Balham (25 mins) and Clapham Junction (30 mins)
-> Gatwick Airport (25 - 30 mins)
-> And of course central Croydon & Crystal Palace in 5 mins
Other transport (back-up / alternatives for those really bad days):
-> Buses up to Brixton, Elephant & Castle, Peckham, Lewisham
-> 20 mins walk from my house to the alternative stations of Selhurst, Birkbeck, and Elmers End
