Bright and airy room near Streatham Common

Ad ref# 12063580

My housemate is moving in with his girlfriend so I'm looking for someone to replace him in our two bedroom flat.

The flat...
...is a top floor, split level flat in a period property. We've got two living areas - a big kitchen-diner with breakfast bar and dinner table, and separate living room with the world's comfiest sofa (many testimonies available) and sofa bed (great for guests). There's loads of cubby holes for storing stuff, so you don't need to keep everything in your bedroom. Kitchen has all the mod cons - dishwasher, washing machine, fridge-freezer, microwave, oven and hob.

The room...
...is the second level attic space. It has two sky lights so it's really bright and airy, both with views over the roof tops (you get some really amazing sunsets here) and black-out blinds. The room comes with a double bed (+fancy mattress), in-built shelving unit and and large double chest of drawers. It also has a built-in wardrobe/storage cupboard and extra storage space in the eaves.

Me/you
I'm 33, female, work in publishing and into art/travel/music/theatre/comed y/nights out/walks with Sunday lunches etc... I'm quite busy so I'm often out somewhere in the evenings (meaning we won't be in each other's pockets), but I also value my nights in and lazy weekends when I do get them. Always up for a party/night out but probably should say less so for bringing the party home.... the flat is a bit of an escape haven for me...
I'm hoping for someone with a similar mentality, with their own stuff on but also up for hanging out now and then - cook dinner, slob in front of the tv, have a pint down the local etc. Someone with an ace sense of humour is a bonus!

The area
We’re in easy walking distance to loads of amenities:
- 2 minutes to nearest cornershop and (really yummy) French deli
- 5 mins to Streatham Common (the actual common, not the station – great for runs!)
- 10 minutes to Streatham High Street (bars, cafes, local shops, post office, library etc.), where you can also get buses to loads of places including Brixton (20 mins)
- 12 minutes to Streatham Station (Thameslink to Elephant & Castle/Blackfriars/Farringdon/ St Pancras, or Southern Rail to Croydon/Wimbledon/Dulwich/Peck ham/London Bridge)
- 12-15 mins to Better Gym/leisure centre or The Gym (cheap 24/7 option!)
- 12-14 mins to HUGE Tesco, Marks and Spencer and Aldi

The boring stuff
There's a £650 deposit which is kept in a deposit protection scheme, £90 contract fee and £240 reference check fee but I'm in the process of negotiating that down - could be more around £100. Bills come to about 100-115 each a month and include water, council tax, gas&electric, tv licence and broadband.
Move in date is flexible.

If you've got any questions just drop me a line.
