Hi, we're looking for a third person to share our house as our current housemate is moving back to Germany for his job.
+++ The House +++
Our house is at the rear of a converted Victorian house on a quiet residential road just off Streatham High Street. There is free on-street parking, and the house is double-glazed with gas central heating. We have a shared bathroom, and a shared kitchen with gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher, washing machine, and fridge/freezer. We also have a spacious shared living/dining room with sliding doors out onto our patio and garden. It's particularly lovely in the summer but, as we're south facing, we get good light at all times of year. The garden is a particular bonus; it’s very quiet and we get a lot of wildlife. As our property is at the rear of the house the place is very quiet and secure, and the neighbours are very considerate.
+++ The Room +++
The room is situated at the top of a landing, opposite the bathroom. It's a cosy space with room for a double bed, as well as being the only room in the house to have an inbuilt closet, which makes a good storage space.
The room comes unfurnished, but the outgoing flatmate would be willing to negitioate on leaving you the bedframe and mattress, and foldout desk. The huge wardrobe you see will not stay however, which will free up some space!
Including bills, the monthly cost comes to around £670.
+++ The Area +++
The house is a minute’s walk away from the high street and the nearest supermarkets. Streatham has a great high street with a cinema, cafes, and shops. We’re also close to Brixton, Clapham, Balham and Tooting for more retail, nightlife, and transport links.
We have great public transport links, with plenty of bus routes, and Streatham and Streatham Hill train stations nearby. It's about a 40 minute journey to Victoria, Oxford Circus, and London Bridge stations.
+++ Money etc +++
The rent is £535 pcm, with approximately £140 pcm on top for bills including council tax, fibre broadband, and utilities. There is also a deposit to be paid to the outgoing housemate before you move in.
+++ Your Housemates +++
We each have our own lives, but we also like to be sociable and do things together. We'll often sit in the living room for a chat at the end of the day, or to watch an episode of Bakeoff. Equally, we're respectful of each other's time and space, and we might just as often spend time alone.
Hugues (pronounced like ‘Hugh’) is a New Zealander and works in a music shop. He is a professional musician and enjoys cooking, reading, gardening, and coffee. Hugues’s boyfriend lives in Manchester and visits from time to time.
Shafiq is British Asian and works as a part time primary school teacher. He occasionally makes mixed media art when not working in a school. He enjoys cooking & baking.
+++ You +++
We're looking for a young professional (25-35) who is easy-going, clean, considerate, sociable, and LGBT-friendly. As the property is managed by an agency the new tenant will also need to go through the standard referencing process.
