Good size room available in friendly flat in a friendly house in a quiet, attractive and friendly neighbourhood.
Close to Telegraph Hill Upper Park, 8 minutes from Brockley and Nunhead Stations, and 12 minutes-or a short bus ride-to New Cross Gate, plus less than a minute from 484 & 343 bus stops. This means quick access to Overground and standard Rail routes: Brockley is 3 stops away from the Jubilee Line, 10 minutes away from London Bridge - I can usually get to the centre of London in less that 40 minutes. Nunhead is 18 minutes to Blackfriars and 20 minutes to Victoria. Brockley is not that big a place but it does have great coffee shops and restaurants, its own brewery and several local supermarkets, including 2 local Sainsbury's. Nunhead has a very attractive high street with a burgeoning nightlife. There are lots of great towns nearby - Peckham, East Dulwich, Deptford, Greenwich, Blackheath and vibrant New Cross.
The room itself is lovely and very spacious; great view, high ceiling, plenty of light, with a useful amount of storage–more pictures on SpareRoom link–including drawers under bed. I can only accommodate one lodger, but the bed can be single or double as you can see.

My name is Maggy and I am a self-employed Feldenkrais and Voice teacher, aged 60. I work at home several days a week, so we would need to discuss it if you were also self-employed*, but it could definitely work well for an academic, a writer, and possibly a student - I have had younger lodgers before and that has worked out very well indeed.
*Thanks to covid I am now well-used to sharing the house with another person who needs to work at home!

The lounge space is my work room and as I am a teacher - working online a lot at the moment - I am usually working into the evening, but I am very happy to share the space whenever I am not working. We will be sharing a bijou kitchen with lots of shiny new appliances, and a very nice bathroom with a shower. The lack of a constantly available shared lounge space is the main reason that I am offering a large room in such a sought-after area for such a reasonable rent.
