Large double room in friendly vegetarian household two minutes' walk from King’s Buildings, Edinburgh University. Rent includes council tax, all bills and wi-fi.
The house is a big, traditional Edinburgh stone villa, and the room has a double bed, sofa, sliding door double wardrobe, desk, chair and shelves. It is beautifully decorated in a contemporary style and sits on the middle floor of the house, with access to a bathroom shared with the owners.
It is a few minutes’ walk from a supermarket and shopping mall, and near Blackford Glen, a huge, wooded park with an observatory, and just round the corner from the major bus route into the centre. Buses take about 10 minutes into the town centre and run 24 hours a day, every few minutes during the day, but less often after midnight.
You’ll have shared use of a huge and lovely living space downstairs with large folding glass doors into the garden. This includes two sofas, a dining table and kitchen. There’s also a smaller, adjoining room with additional kitchen facilities at the rear of the house.
You'll be sharing with the owners plus two other lodgers. We're all easy going and sociable, sharing the occasional meal, but all with our own social lives.
As vegetarians, we do not want meat brought into the house, though we have a dog, Watson, who is not vegetarian. He is friendly and lively, doesn’t bark much and doesn’t shed hair, though he’ll steal any food left lying about if he can.
Oh, and we have a cleaner, who comes in once a week to clean communal areas, and whose services are included in the rent.
