Hi there!
I'm looking for someone to move in with me in January 2021.
The rent amount includes rent, council tax & internet. The electric is on a prepaid meter so varies from month to month. The bills can be pricey when it's chilly but are very low in the summer. We have a washing machine, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster and slow cooker.
I'm a friendly, tidy, professional and Illustrator who loves to cook, listen to creepy podcasts, go on road trips and have relaxing nights in. I'm looking for someone who likes similar things & would want to hang out/watch tv together every now and then. I’d like a housemate that I can call a friend. This is a place for 20-something grandma's, so if you're into partying and staying up late you'd be very bored here!
I am happily single and don't like living with couples, so if you have a partner, I'm only comfortable with them staying over every now and then. Sorry if this seems harsh, I've just had a lot of crap experiences in the past with housemates partners essentially moving in without consent.
The room you'll be renting is an unfurnished, large double room looking out onto the street. My housemate has left a nice ikea wardrobe for the next person to use, but if this isn't something you want, we can get rid of it.
There's a great sized kitchen, living room & bathroom - with a very 70's avocado suite! (And bath!) My desk is in the living room (as I have the much smaller bedroom) so I do sometimes need quiet if I'm working on commissions or working from home.
The 2 bed flat is on the third floor, in a quiet building which has lots of free on street parking and a big garage where you can store your stuff. We are also very close to numerous bus stops, including the 11, 15, 16, 4, 5, 400 and 27, so although we're out of town, it's very easy to get around. (Most of these come every 10 mins too!) We're close to Aldi, Tesco, Morrisons, Premier, and the local library. The bypass is very close too so you can easily get to fort kinnaird, ikea and portobello beach.
The flat is LGBTQA+ friendly & vegans/vegetarians are very welcome. I have a lovely Cornsnake called Sienna who is always kept locked inside her vivarium, but she's up for cuddles if you're into that. I am a huge fan of cats so if you have one that is a bonus - it is a third floor flat though so they'd have to be ok with being indoors. The final decision on which pets are allowed is up to the landlord/letting agents, but I had no problems keeping Sienna.
Unfortunately my Landlord will not accept students in the flat so you need to be in full time work, (part time if you earn enough).
I'm also looking for someone who wants to live in the flat long term. I've had two brilliant housemates this year who ended up only staying a couple of months before moving in with partners or family. It gets really stressful having to keep searching for new housemates. I want to buy my own place one day (when i grow up), so ideally I'd like someone who's wanting to do the same thing, living with me for a long time while we save up deposits and then part ways.
Please get in touch if you have any questions or would like to see the flat
Meg :)
