Looking for someone warm and friendly who takes the initiative with household tasks and finds it easy to keep things clean and tidy. Must love dogs (I have an adorable, non-shedding mini poodle)!
About us:
We are two women in our 40s and late 20s. I love travel, outdoor adventure, reading, psychology and politics. I'm friendly and interested in people, and I love downtime. I head out to meet friends some evenings and at the weekends, and I'm pretty much always studying something or doing DIY.
My flatmate loves plants, arts and crafts, and getting absorbed in stories (books, TV, games...), and she's keen to do a Masters in the next couple of years. She's always up for chatting or hanging out, but has lived with enough introverts to give people the space they need. ☘️
In the household, we tend to do our own thing but like getting together for cups of tea, dog walks, hanging out in the garden or hosting friends for dinner.
About living here:
The room has a king size bed, very large wardrobe, desk, office chair, lamp, mirror, drawers and shelves. It's carpeted and double-glazed, so plenty warm and quiet. £600/month + bills*, £600 deposit. (*Bills: council tax - £54 each; internet - £10 each; power - variable.)
We've got fast Virgin Internet, a dishwasher and a cracking coffee machine. No TV, I'm afraid (well, we've a screen and chromecast). Lots of books.
It's a 2 minute walk to Morrisons, and 3-5 minutes to bus stops (3, 29, 7, 11, 8 etc). Or a 10-15 minute drive (20 minute cycle) to Newington, 15 minutes to Portobello, 8 minutes to Kings Buildings or Little France, and 5 minutes to the bypass.
What we love about living here is how easy it is to get out into the countryside, yet we can be in the city in 20-30 minutes to meet friends or clients. We also love having the extra space you get with a house, and it's brilliant to push open the French doors in the lounge and sit out on the deck in the garden.
The icing on the cake is that the Burdiehouse Burn Nature Reserve runs behind us for 3 miles, so you always hear the sounds of the river and birds and can quickly get out for a walk or run!
