Hello!
We're Jamie and Rowen, the current tenants and hopefully your future housemates.
Our current flatmate is moving out of the house and we've got a nice double bedroom freeing up, here are the specs:
- double bed
- built-in closet
- bedside table & lamps
- shared kitchen with plenty of work space and storage
- The kitchen is fully equipped with bothe electric hob and oven, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher and fridge/freezer.
- shared livingroom with super comfortable sofa (get ready to never get up again), TV, a large dining table (seats at least 8)
- shared bathroom (sharing with 1 person, Rowen) that has a toilet, sink, big mirror, plenty of space for toiletries and a shower-over-bath with both a jet option and rainfall shower head (photo above)
- The house is situated just behind the shore so it has great access to public transport (buses run 24x7 to the centre of Edinburgh every 6-10 min), pubs, cafes and restaurants. Ocean Terminal and Vue cinema is within a 10 min walk
- We also have free off street parking
- There is no official bike storage, but the flat is big enough to keep a bike inside if necessary.
We don't currently pay to have TV channels - netflix and amazon prime are our entertainment, along with our game consoles. Great internet is a part of the package as Rowen needs it for work as well.
The costs:
Your rent will be paid directly to the landlord. Bills will be split evenly between us 3, and come down to about £120 each p. m (these incl. council tax, electricity and internet, also small things like toilet paper and household cleaning supplies)
About us:
We are a sociable house, but it's still a case of "however much you want to". Want to sit in the living room and play games together? Sure, we're up for it! Want to lock yourself in your room for some me-time? Totally understandable and nobody will bother you.
We sometimes have dinner together, which is more of a "oh hey we're all home? Let's!" than a scheduled thing. We also enjoy a good board game from time to time.
We are a LGBT friendly/inclusive household.
Jamie is Australian and works as a nurse for the Royal Infirmary.
Rowen is Dutch and works for an AV company called Kinly, based in Livingston, but also works from home.
As we both work night shifts from time to time, we sometimes ask you to make sure not to make a racket during the day (something we return if up late at night). It's a great thing that your bedroom is the one closest to the living room and any noise is well maintained by closing the doors.
Send us a message if you'd like to view. Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic we will look at virtual viewings of the apartment. If the current climate gets better or if needed/requested we can possibly arrange in person viewings keeping government regulated distancing of 2m and face protection. We look forward to meeting you!
