We rent a lovely house in Musselburgh and, sadly, our flatmate needs to move away for work. We are: two sisters Eleanor (32) and Grace (29) and Eleanor’s wee girl Erin (11). Eleanor is currently working remotely in arts marketing and Erin is an imaginative, artistic P7 thespian. Grace is working in childcare and looking to explore further opportunities with fashion and circular economics. We’ve been in our house since Sept 2018 and before that the three of us spent 6 months travelling in Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand. In our house we love to bake, dance, sew, garden and generally have a lot of slightly weird but entertaining fun.
The house itself has 4 upstairs bedrooms - the one we need to fill is the master with an ensuite toilet and shower. There is also a large kitchen with lots of cupboards for storage, a gas hob/electric cooker, fridge/freezer and an adjoined utility room with a washing machine, tumble drier and another freezer. Other communal areas are the large dining and living rooms which we enjoy chilling out in and eating or watching TV. The living room also has a useable wood burning stove so when it’s chillier in the winter we sometimes enjoy a nice toasty fire. The property has 2 other bathrooms, one downstairs toilet and upstairs a bath, shower and toilet room. Downstairs there is another room that was originally an office which we have a spare bed in for guests but is mostly used as a playroom for Erin ― it is like a Playmobil kingdom right now ― as we find this keeps the toys from creeping all over the house and means she can tuck herself away to play and have down time. The house is a beautiful listed building and council tax band F. There is a front and back garden and on-street parking outside the house. We both have cars and never struggle to get parked. There is also a bus stop about a 2 minute walk from the house where you can easily get into Edinburgh or out into East Lothian. The house comes with access to a private green that is shared with the neighbours (who are all very lovely) and we enjoy spending time out there playing games or one time even having our own house silent disco.
The room we need to fill will be available from November 2022. It comes partially furnished so has a double bed, bedside table and some very large wardrobes. The room is lovely and bright during the day as it has a double window but also comes with blinds for the evenings. The rest of the house came with some random bits of furniture including a chaise and a very out of tune piano as well as gardening equipment, a hoover and (our favourite) a pulley. The room rent is £500pm and our current internet provider is £7.66 each per month. Currently, we pay £60 each per month for the gas/electricity which is building us up some credit for this year's pricier winter.
Hopefully we haven’t missed out any key information but if you do need any other details, we would be very happy to provide them so just drop us a message if you are interested.
