Hi, I'm Sarah. I share my house with woman academics. This advert is currently deactivated, and is only available for Helena from Germany. (Sorry, Helena, I cannot contact you, and do not want to waste money if you are not interested. So please get in touch if you think this may be right for you.)
The green bedroom is our spare room. Currently we have a refugee staying with us, but he will be leaving next month.
You will be sharing with me (British retired software developer), Nicole (German climate change PhD) and Zanta (South African writer). We also have Emily the Siamese cat and Nicole's cat Timon, so please only apply if you genuinely like cats.
As someone recently commented, this is a ‘proper house’, not student accommodation. We are friends and spend time together, whether cooking at home or going for a day out in the country. Your friends will be welcome to visit; the sofa is large enough for sleep overs.
The house has all the amenities you could wish for, including a cleaner and gardener. Rooms are light and well furnished and there is unlimited fast broadband. The green and blue rooms share a shower room, which has just been refurbished. The location is quiet and safe, convenient to shops/bus/pub 200m away. UEA is a 10-15 minute bike ride and there is a free bike for you to use.
Rent includes all bills; everything is provided, from toilet paper to towels - you only need to buy/bring food and personal items.
Please note a let is only agreed when I receive your deposit.
Contact me if you would like more details or to come and look round. There is no obligation, and the rent is on a month by month basis, though you will need to provide one month as a deposit. We even have a face (book) page, where you can talk with previous lodgers!
For anyone who has read this far (wow! thank you!), I thought you might like to know about some of the people who have stayed here. My first lodger, twenty years ago, was Heather (Xiao) from northern China. Rennessa came from Minnesota, USA. Mohan and Muthu were from Kerala, India. Kai and Michael were Erasmus students from Germany, as was Jessi. Lukas was from Hong Kong, Thais from Brazil, Kiki and Suzanne were both Dutch. Sop, who still lives in Norwich, is from Nigeria. We really are a United Nations!
