Hello,
My name's Weng, I’m a scientist currently working near Oxford.
Sadly my current flatmate is leaving, but I am staying on in this lovely 2-person flat (current contract runs till Aug 2024 with yearly renewal through Aug 2025)! Well refurbished all-round, including clean carpets everywhere and kept in good state. The shared living & kitchen areas are very spacious for 2 people, and get a lot of sunlight, lifting the spirits.
It’s a furnished double room with good storage (built-in wardrobe), and your bedroom will be ensuite. The desk shown in the photos will move out so there will be space for your own desk or bookcase.
10min walk to Cowley Road, 20min walk to Templars Shopping Park, and directly on the 1, 5, 10, 11, U5 bus line. It's away from the main road, cul-de-sac type of place so no traffic noise. Off-road allocated parking spot is currently rented out to reduce bills but may be made available if necessary.

The flat is managed by a reliable letting agency, who’s quick to fix issues. They’re allowing me to search for a replacement tenant, and they will then be doing reference checks and vetting all the other paperwork to change tenant names onto the new contract + deposit protection scheme, etc. For the referencing, you will need to be in employment or a funded post-grad student.

I’d love to find someone who is tidy, clean, and responsible. The flat is usually peaceful, and I'm a quiet person, so I do not want someone who has frequent/big parties, as I treat the place as a home. It's a bonus if we are on a similar wavelength, to chat about news, science, food and literature, or occasional tv watching together and shared cooking, but absolutely no pressure! All genders and orientations are very welcome, but must be LGBTQ+ friendly.
No short term, only for long term.

I'm Malaysian and have been living in the UK for more than 10 years. I’ve had great experiences in house shares with a wide mix of people of different backgrounds. I'm an avid readers (lots of books in the house!) and occasionally enjoy socialising in the evenings and weekends. I’m good at respecting other peoples’ space and am very tidy and clean. I'm also generally a quiet person, so won't be generating noises.
