A double room suitable for a single person but with a double bed. At present with the Covid 19 situation I am looking for a lodger who has been double vaccinated. My dad is vulnerable due to his age so Covid safety is a priority in the house. Close to Grangemouth , Falkirk and Bathgate ( 15 mins). Our cottage is a blend of old style and modern interior and a large sheltered and private patio and garden to the rear. We have a very ample drive with off road parking and although in a semi rural setting out small local shops are a 5 minute walk away and we do have a bus stop at the end of our driveway. I would recommend that you have your own car, however, since we are 6 miles from Falkirk and 3. 5 miles from the nearest station and public transport is limited if you require a regular commute.

I am Jenny and I live here with my dad Jim. I worked in healthcare and latterly as a Life Coach. My dad is a retired headteacher with short term memory challenges but is good company despite that. We have a lovely dog called Dougal who is a lab collie cross. He is mostly, very obedient and loving and friendly but does bark at the postman and visitors until he identifies them as friendly. We have a small anxious pussy cat called Poppy who appears to be very hypoallergenic since I usually sneeze with all other cats. I also have 5 pet sheep and 6 rescue chickens. We are very easy going and sociable but the house is large enough for everyone to have all the privacy they wish for when they want it. The available room is upstairs with an open view over fields and the village. Although not en suite the bathroom is right next door with in bath shower. I also use this bathroom but my timing is flexible for use of the shower and there is a further toilet downstairs.
There is one other lodger upstairs with their own en-suite. who has lived here for over six plus years now.
I have had lodgers now for over 6 years with a wide range of interesting people coming to live here sometimes for months, sometimes years.


We have a large kitchen and you will have fridge, freezer and cupboard space for your food and access to the use of all amenities, gas cooker washing machine etc all we ask is that you tidy up after yourself, as we do ourselves, and as people who enjoy company we hope you will quickly feel at home here.

An easy going atmosphere with mutual respect for people's need for privacy when they want to retreat to their own room has worked well for us all here. The kitchen is usually the social space but with Covid we have had minimal contact with each other until quite recently. There is a sunroom as well as a lounge. My dad spends time in the lounge and I babysit for my granddaughter at times but you can use the public rooms but my dad has first choice of the tv channels.
