Peaceful loft studio in the countryside

Self-contained suite, with woodburner, above a stone-built garage in the grounds of an old village house. Quiet area with country views, off-road parking and shared use of a large garden.

Recent construction, so warm and comfortable. Large main studio bed sitting room with oak floors and cupboards under eaves, shower room and very limited cooking facilities (kettle, toaster, microwave and small fridge).... but the village pub serves food every day.

A separate wash house is shared, with washing machine, tumble dryer and airers. The main kitchen can be used by arrangement, but not for cooking meat. Dogs considered but not suitable for cats (our own dog). The loft is not big enough for couples, although previous tenants have had friends, relatives and partners staying occasionally.

Bills included but there is a separate meter for electricity and usage over 2kW/day is charged at cost (typical summer surcharge about £10/month and £40/month in winter). Only dried hardwood logs are to be burned in the wood burner (available at a modest cost). The mobile signal is not great but the loft has broadband / wi-fi.

Co-op and other facilities are one mile away in Bidford-on-Avon, a 10 minute walk across the meadow or a short drive. The loft is in wonderful walking and cycling countryside, if you enjoy that sort of thing.

We love the countryside and live as 'green' a lifestyle as we can, so thoughtful use of energy and separation of waste into the bins provided is important.

I stayed at the property for 6 months. I highly recommend it. Location is amazing. There are many beautiful walks around. Just 5 minutes drive to Bidford on Avon where there is well stocked Coop. I recommend The Bridge restaurant there as well. There are few take away shops. I work in Stratford upon Avon and for me it was about 20 minutes commute. I love travelling around the beautiful Cotswolds and the village is perfectly located. There are many bike tracks around. People in the village are friendly and you can always find a friendly face in the local pub to have a chat if you fancy. The accommodation is very comfortable and cosy. Lovely bathroom, a lot of storage. I enjoyed many evenings by the fire with a glass of wine. Amanda is a lovely host and I can’t thank her enough for the hospitality and friendliness. I stayed at the loft for around 6 months and really enjoyed my stay. It’s built in traditional Cotswold stone, situated in a quiet village with lovely walks along the Avon close by. There is also a nice pub that serves good hearty meals a stones throw away.
The loft has been tastefully renovated and its space utilised well. The exposed stone up the stairs and oak floorboards make it lovely and cosy, especially with the log burner in winter. The bathroom is a good size and shower has excellent water pressure.
Amanda is a brilliant host, she is friendly, welcoming and can really never do enough to help.
I thoroughly recommend the loft to anyone who is looking for a quiet and peaceful, beautiful place to stay. Claudia (June - Dec 2020)

It's been an idyllic place to live and felt like a home away from home. Amanda was so welcoming and helpful, and I had more than I needed to live happily here for over a year!
