Fresh, Bright Single Room in family home

Our family home sits in the heart of Sussex. The room is bright and light. We have a powerful shower and a new kitchen with all the mod cons apart from a microwave!). The Southdowns and Ashdown Forest are on our doorstep. The train station is a short 20 minute walk or £4 taxi ride and has fast train links to Gatwick (12mins) Brighton (20mins) and London Victoria (45mins). The town itself is a short walk and the pretty village of Lindfield is a 25 minute walk through the nature reserve. Oh and we have three little people ;0)

When staying with us you will have access to the bathroom, kitchen, sitting room and garden. You are welcome to stay in your room but you are just as welcome to become part of the family for however long you are with us!

We live in the house so it's quite difficult to avoid us but as mentioned before you can very easily retreat to your room without causing offence.

Our little people, Elizabeth (8yrs) and Elijah (5yrs) and Jesse (very new) are very sociable but will respect your privacy.

My husband, Gareth, is from Northern Ireland and loves to chat! We moved from Edinburgh in 2015 and he misses his Celtic roots. We in general love people and hosted in Edinburgh for 4 years. Oh and we both enjoy cooking if you want to swap recipes...

Our neighbourhood is a very quiet one. We have a little primary school opposite and a hospital just up the road. There is a coop at the end of our road, otherwise Haywards Heath town centre is a 10 minute walk away with a range of high street and local shops and cafes. Lindfield is a very beautiful village, 25 minutes by foot through the nature reserve and has some lovely little local run business'.

There is free on street parking by the house and bus links into the Sussex countryside and surrounding villages.

The room isn't tiny and it's not huge. There is a single bed with a second single bed that can be pulled out from underneath. They are both very comfortable.

We would be open to a Monday to Friday option and would prefer to have a lodger who will be out and about during the day.

Gareth is from N Ireland and I am from Sussex we met in Edinburgh In 2007 and it was our home until 2015. We both enjoy biking, running, walking and generally being outside. We really enjoy food and Gareth is quite obsessive about his music collection. Elizabeth is in her fourth year of school and is doing exceptionally well. She has always been very sociable and keeps us entertained. She also loves music and crafts. Elijah (Bear) is a typical boy. He runs, jumps and climbs. He is in Year 1 and is very funny, cute and quite determined. He learns new things on daily basis so will probably be flying and fluent in 3 languages by the time you meet him! Jesse- we’re still getting to know. He’s very chilled and super happy. As siblings go they get on very well.

I am a remedial/therapeutic massage therapist/full time mum and Gareth teaches RME in secondary school. This said we both have dreams of running our own business.

We love people and sharing life with others!!

A few house notes...

We have young children so would obviously ask that any activity upstairs during the evening is reasonably quiet you are welcome to hang out in the communal areas of the house at any point of the day/evening.

Without sounding pinickety the kitchen work tops are real wood, very impractical but pretty. They require a special cleaning product, mats for hot stuff and shouldn't be left wet! Haha I hear you say! How silly! I agree, but my husband likes pretty things and is rarely found at the sink!
