Double en suite in friendly home 5 mins station
A tastefully decorated and peaceful en suite double bedroom, overlooking the back garden and South Downs. Laptop-friendly desk, chair, wardrobe, bedside table, and TV. There is a toilet and basin en suite, as well as a large bathroom right next door which would be for your use as we have our own. This has a large walk-in shower, as well as a bath, toilet and basin.
Our house is a lovely, 3-bedroom Victorian house with garden. It is located 5 minutes’ walk from Worthing station (excellent connections to Brighton, Gatwick, Portsmouth, London), 20 mins walk to Worthing town centre and sea front, and 5 mins drive/20 min walk to Worthing Hospital. 20 mins cycling and you’re in the stunning South Downs.
You would be welcome to use the large kitchen/diner, which has a sofa and TV, and the garden, which has a decked seating area and side access for keeping a bike. Our living room is private because it also serves as an office.
There is free on-street parking, but it can get busy so you may occasionally have to park a couple of hundred metres up the road. There are lots of amenities within close walking distance, including a Tesco Express and other small food stores, a gorgeous bakery and cafe (The Pantry), a renowned micropub, a Thai restaurant (New Thai Spice), a very popular Turkish restaurant (Efes) and several take-aways.
What’s included in the rent?
All bills are included, as are superfast wifi and cleaning. We have a cleaner who comes in every week so all you would have to do is change your bedlinen as she does the rest.
We are a couple in our 50s, to the left of centre and interested in the environment, travel, learning about new cultures, cooking and eating good food and wine. We are interested in eating more vegetarian or vegan food but aren’t fanatical so would be happy to accept someone who is a meat-eater. We work in healthcare and spend part of the year in France so you may have the place to yourself sometimes. We have a very friendly older cat, Jeff, who adores attention so ideally you’ll be someone who loves cats!
Who we are looking for:
We are looking for someone who is respectful, reasonably quiet, and sensitive around keeping shared spaces clean and tidy. We are British but speak some French and Spanish. We have enjoyed letting out rooms through AirBnB for several years and have met a lot of lovely, interesting people. Whilst the room would suit a Mon-Fri let very well, we may be able to accommodate someone 7 days a week depending on their circumstances. If renting on a Mon-Fri basis you are welcome to leave your things in the room.
