Lodger for Cotswold cottage share. Pet cat as possibility.

The house share lodger would have use of the double bedroom and use of a sitting room (as there are 2 sittings rooms it’s possible to use one each)
with shared bathroom and kitchen with me (cottage owner) in my furnished historic petite cottage in one of Bradford on Avon’s weaver’s cottages in a much loved, pretty, off street pedestrian lane on the Bath side of town.

Free Wi-Fi throughout the house. TV via your Laptop.

Who would it suit?
Would suit a person of 5’ 5” tall max (it’s a cottage with some beams).
Someone with a full time job working away from the home as there is no work-office room and no work desk so working from the cottage is not an option.

Would suit
a person working full time, not working from home.
Would also suit someone needing a Monday-Friday place to live with weekends away.

Won’t suit
a very tall person as this is a cottage, there are two low beams at just two points on entering the staircases.
Won’t suit a person with knee problems because of the 3 cottage style staircases.

Location.
The lane is close to the Bradford on Avon town centre and train station. 4 minutes walk to BoA station past beautiful cottages, conveniently only a few stations to Bath Spa and linking to surrounding towns. 2 minutes walk to BoA town centre shops, cafés and restaurants.

The other end of the lane leads into country park & the Cotswolds landscape, pubs & cafés. A charming, home combining character with modern amenities, tucked away location yet surprisingly close to town centre and transport.

I moved here in August 2019 and have decorated most of the house already, I plan a few more updates in the future, but it is already a comfortable and lovely home.

Length of stay
to be arranged. Standard tenant contract. 6 months tenancy initially that can be extended if we get on well.

Layout.
An 18th century period home cottage built in a vertical townhouse arrangement for historical reasons :
ground floor, 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors.
Semi circular cottage style wooden staircases (therefore not suited infirm people).

Front door entrance into ground floor bedroom / sitting room, character ceiling beams, an inglenook fireplace (no real flame fires, there are fairy lights instead). This can be my bed sitting room.

First floor - a second double bedroom (yours) & shared bathroom.

Second floor - Back door entrance from the country footpath lane into second sitting room. Fireplace. A shared common area room although this can be for your own use in the evenings.

Top floor - shared use of spacious kitchen, electric Aga cooker, fridge, freezer, food storage cupboard, shared dresser and washing machine on the top floor. Character beams.

Parking: these historic homes were built before cars were invented so residents can park small a sized car in the lane outside or in a nearby quiet lane, a two minute walk past the Cotswolds countryside.

Bills included. Contributions to be negotiated if the bills escalate.

I’m a designer by background, I live a quiet life in my lovely cottage. I’m great at getting on with people and yet also good at giving people their own space, in other words I like people to feel comfortable happy and settled.

Lovely neighbours.
Friendly country neighbourhood in one of BoA’s most popular lanes. It’s a special place.

Cleaning
I vacuum and dust the common areas once a week.

Laundry
shared use of washing machine. No tumble drier so washing is dried on airing racks in the spacious kitchen.

Pets
a cat is welcome.
