Thank you for your interest in our community. We’ve put together a few notes about us and our home to give you an idea of what and where we are and what we are about.

Where are We?
Sahaja Community is on the Shaftesbury Road on the edge of Compton Chamberlayne, a small rural village in Wiltshire. The postcode is SP3 5DJ. We are around 8 miles from Salisbury and 12 miles from Shaftesbury.

Our Home
We live in an extended end terrace stone cottage. We have around 6 bedrooms and 4 community rooms; to include a cosy sitting room with log burner and a well-equipped large kitchen. We have all of the modern facilities you might expect including high speed broadband.
We have a large back garden in varied states of cultivation with several raised beds and fruit trees. Within the garden are various structures: A “Crystal Palace” with sauna, a yurt, a seated gazebo area and a large temple with heating and sound system. We also have an outside hot tub.
The house is fully equipped with everything you would expect to live, eat and sleep here.

Life Here
Sahaja is our home. At present there are three of us and a cat and there is space for two or three more people. We feel that our community needs to be a place where everyday interactions matter. A place that friends and lovers would love to visit. We share food and have away days occasionally. We care for each other.
Our buildings and grounds are quite extensive. We all take part in caring for the house and garden. The general attitude though is to clean up after yourself and to be considerate towards other community members. If something needs doing or fixing we do it or fix it.
We have occasional informal meetings to share where we are, and to deal with practical decisions relating to the community.

You and Your Commitment
You will be a mature, responsible adult and will be mainly free of any psychological, emotional and relationship issues. You will be open and easy about life and be accepting and willing to share.
Currently the individual contribution towards Sahaja’s running costs is £320 per calendar month for the rooms we have available. This is payable in advance as specified in a tenancy agreement you will sign should you join us and we require a month’s rent as a deposit. This covers accommodation and all monthly bills for community services and also ad hoc community capital purchases. This may be subject to decrease as occupancy increases. Your only other living expenses whilst at Sahaja is transport and feeding yourself.
