Great maisonette in Marshalswick, St Albans, 2 minutes walk from The Quadrant, in St Albans. Residents parking included and a garage for extra storage - lots of storage room available.

St Albans City station is 30-40 minutes walk away, or 11-15 minutes cycle away . St Peters Street/the town centre is about the same distance away.

Large double room in a shared flat/maisonette. Really beautiful green courtyards on each side of the house. The neighbours are really friendly and the atmophere here is really homey, a great community to live in.

The available bedroom will have a couple of pieces of furniture; the IKEA Kallax room divider will stay, as well as, most likely, the wardrobe.

The rent is £950 a month in total, but this room is twice as large as mine, so the rent is divided £525 for this one and £425 for mine (that's how we've managed it these last 4 years).

I prefer to maintain an easy-going informal household; I'm not at all a high-demand or high-maintenance housemate, and would much prefer the same.

I'm quite sports-orientated so whenever I have the chance I like to engage in physical activity.

When times are normal, I work in hospitality, so my hours are quite varied, while trending towards the later end of the day.

Couples are welcome but the rent would then change to £634 for this room and £317 for mine, as use of shared spaces is of course assumed to be equal.

Bills are currently divided between us half and half, for couples bills would be shared 3 ways.

In total usually bills come to:
water = £40 pcm,
electricity = £45 pcm,
wifi = £50pcm,
council tax = £158 pcm.
Total = £293 pcm.
Between 2 people = £146.50 each per month.

Thus, while the listed price p/month is without bills, overall the monthly payment for the new housemate would come to roughly £671/month

They are paid into a shared account - the bank statements for which are of course accessible on demand from any prospective housemate - and any excess funds are regularly split evenly and paid back out.
