Reviews
Angel
-
Brilliant for public transport, excellent supermarkets within 3 min walk, good street market (Chapel Market - top quality fruit and veg) heaps of bars and restaurants, all with a buzzy atmosphere.
-
Mixed area of popular shops and markets and trendy eating out places with lively night life and excellent access
Balls Pond Road
-
Central place for good connections to Islington, Shoreditch and The City. Good community feel with delis, Sainsburys and Tesco Metro a few minutes walk away.
-
This road is the link between North and East London in that you go one way to Islington and the other to Dalston. It's on convenient bus routes - ten minutes to Angel tube and five minutes to Dalston Kingsland. Dalston is a mix of hipsters and housing estate kids, so if you like that rundown vibe - i.e. cheap fried chicken shops next to underground bars, funky jazz clubs and so on then it's a good place to be. Angel/Islington is more of a yummy mummy, organic health food, gastro pub-ish area with some great little cafes tucked way in Camden passage off the main drag.
Barnsbury
-
The nicest area of Islington. Big Victorian terraces. Quiet and affluent, but very near Upper Street and King's Cross. Very handy for the West End and the City.
-
Leafy squares, great restaurants in Hemingford Rd such as Roots, Hemingford arms, also the Albion pub nearby. Quiet area but very central, 10 minute walk to Upper St for entertainment, theatre cafes, 2 cinemas, shopping and antique market , myriad places to eat. Ten minutes walk to Kings Cross and most things you need to buy every day in the Caledonian rd, lots of buses too.
De Beauvoir Town
-
Mixed area with quiet spots and lots to do. Even has a village area in the square.
-
A lovely quiet residential pocket between Hackney and Islington. Fantastic location for city workers. Regular buses every 10 mins 24 hrs. New tube station in 2010. Very close to Shoreditch/Hoxton which attracts the arty crowd and competes with Soho on the night scene.
-
I love De Beauvoir!! Awesome train links with the overground to the City, Stratford and Camden plus an extensive bus network. Dalston for a great night out is just round the corner and Shoreditch is only a bus ride away. Quirky and full of life, I wouldnt live anywhere else!
-
It has the best of many worlds. It is in a reasonably inexpensive part of London but it very central with the City within walking distance and the west end a short bus ride. With the opening of the underground station at Dalston, the underground is now very close too. It is on the border of fashionable Islington with all the lovely cafes, restaurants, cinemas, theatres, antique shops, etc., and interesting night life that is there. It is close to the market at Ridley Road and a short distance from Chapel Street Market in Islington. The area is a conservation area and is definitely up and coming.
-
De Beauvoir Town is great! Have lived here for 25years!
Because its a great mix of people
Because [because of all the cul de sacs] its so quiet and pastoral.
Now we have Haggerston station I can get down to Kings X in 8 minutes and get to Shorditch by bus in 5min and Liverpool St in 10mins.
There is a strong community with a brilliant community news letter sent to me every week.
The Rio cinema up the road and great pubs and Vietnamese food.
-
A little secret of a place on the borders of Islington and Hackney. Close to the hipness of Dalston & Shoredtich heading east, and to Upper Street to the west, and the City to the south. The area is only going to get better and better!
-
De Beauvoir Town is a beautiful suburban hideaway, which feels much more residential than neighboring Angel or Dalston. It benefits from lots of cul-de-sac's which result in a quiet neighborhood, but great connections via Overground and bus, as well as throwing distance from the amazing amenities of Kingsland Road.
Hoxton
-
Up and coming a Olympic area, which is lively, with good bars, cosmopolitan. Cultured and friendly, very liberal minded and safe. Easy transport to anywhere and the borough council is improving the area with major works to meet Olympic targets, plenty of jobs available in a busy amicable environment.
-
Great safe are with loads going on (bars/ markets/ restaurants), so close to the city, good for artists and financiers alike. Shame about high rents!
-
Hoxton is a great place to live, alternative and cosy.
-
LOCATION: superbly located within walking distance to the trendy areas of Shoreditch, Brick Lane, Angel and Dalston. The nearest overground Hoxton station is 5 minutes from the doorstep. The nearest tube Old Street station is 5 mins away and takes 10 mins to get to King?s Cross, the London biggest transport hub.
24 hour buses to central London run close past home.
THE AREA: is one of the most trendy areas to go out, full of the best bars and clubs.
The property boasts fabulous amenities including shops, restaurants, pubs, sport and leisure center, safe borough.

Great place to live & socialise
Islington
-
A hub of activity, yet a safe haven.
-
Islington is a wonderful part of London, it has something for everyone. Quiet, tree-lined residential streets, the vibrant and funky shops, bars, theatres and restaurants of Upper Street, the old London charm of Chapel Market and the secluded, beautiful and peaceful community gardens - a wonderful village feel with all the convenience that comes with living in Zone 1.
-
Great shops , bars and restaurants. Excellent atmosphere.
-
Lots going on. Good mix of posh shops and cool shops. No need to venture into west end for nights out.
-
Fantastic for fringe theatre and an easy walk to the tendy night life around. You don't realise how brilliant this area is for the culture until you go away for the weekend?!!
-
The place has been a superhub since the 40s with historic icons and artists bringing culture and style to the public one of the biggest markets in london chapel street had over three thousand people per day shopping and meeting each other socially in islington you could always find someone who went to the same school or lived on the same street as you because many people were born and pass without ever wanting to leave this great borough, now we can be proud of the great diversty and change in the mordern years schools have been tranformed into state of the art buildings and neighbouring areas are improving and we have gentrified and made good all the flaws where possible and public moods are as they always were positive familiar open minded and most of all welcoming!
Kingsland
-
Very chilled location, between the busy and convenient Kingsland Road, and a villagey and suburban atmosphere with a pretty river and many parks.
London N1
-
Excellent Location close to Central London and the city. Safe and full of amenities
Old Street
-
Very well connected it's a great location, the little that is left of the real London.
-
Vibrant and busy.
-
Old Street is a very friendly and chilled area by day... People are running around in their suits getting to their offices and, by night, it's a party goers paradise there so many bars and clubs to actually choose from
-
The place to be!
