Historic leafy Highgate is on a hill with the jewelled city twinkling below.

Near to Hampstead Heath, and beautiful architecture, and very old pubs. Many celebs around.

This is a beautiful area that is really close to Central London, whilst feeling as if you are nowhere near it. It is a very quiet, family friendly area with Highgate Village, Hampstead Heath, Queens Wood, Highgate Wood, Muswell Hill and Crouch End on your doorstep. There are plenty of relaxed old and quaint pubs and several lovely restaurants and cafes.

I lived in Highgate for 14 years and if I could go back I would - its the best area in North London without a doubt.

The best part of London to live! So many beautiful parks including Highgate Woods, Waterlow Park, Queens Wood & Hampstead Heath with the open air concerts by the lake during the summer, excellent pubs, restaurants, cafes, supermarkets, all banks, gyms, with good food & good value. Above all excellent transport either underground, buses & train.
Highgate surrounded by picturesque Highgate Village, trendy Crouch End, Muswell Hill & Alexandra Palace.
Quiet, traditional, safe, cultural & so leafy.

Best district to live in London. Great farmers market on Saturdays.

Highgate is one of London's lovliest areas .
Quiet, very safe with a number of lovely parks (including Hampstead Heath) close by.

I was born and brought up in North London and Highgate Village is still my favourite place in the London area. With its access to parks, leafy lanes and heathland it feels like the best bits of being in the country with all the convenience of being less than 30 minutes from most parts of central London.

I've been living here for three years and I love it. It's as close to living in the countryside that you'll get in central London. You can often hear the owl at night, and being within walking distance of Hampstead Heath gives you that added sense of being away from it all. Crouch End, just a ten min walk down the hill, is a rare place, because there is no tube it has retained its villagey character. Very relaxed and lots of good little independent places to eat and shop.
