Fantastic area to live in, full of trendy pubs and shops, great commuting (Central Line) and very safe area to live
Ladbroke Grove
-
Ladbroke Grove is just off Portobello road which is a great place for fresh fruit and veg at fair prices and or antique hunt, art gallery mosey or have a coffee and a meander. There is a fab charity shop called Fara on Blenheim Crescent full of really amazing designer clothes- because of the area -at great prices. Ethical shopping don't ya know..
There is a great organic coffee place too where you can get it ground and lots of other shops on Portobello road, Cath Kidson,Oxfam books, Hummingbird Bakery,Mr Christian's Deli, Paul Smith on the corner just to name a few. It still has one off shops and retains its vibrancy. There are stalls selling Thai food to pancakes to churros to organic bread- literally something for everyone.
Practically there is a great drycleaners called Aquaclean open 7 days a week on Ladbroke Grove and a Post Office ,a new small Sainsburys Local has just opened by the tube which is open 7-11 Mon to Sun, as well as the mega Sainsbury's store which has clothes, audio, home furnishings, linen and every bus on Ladbroke Grove goes to which is just at the top of Ladbroke Grove.
For DIY and paint there is great chain called Nu-Line on Westbourne Grove so you don't really need to go out of the area to get most things and it is well served by transport links.

Its the best location to be in London. Excellent transport links - both tube and bus routes. Only a 10-15min walk to Hyde Park, down the boutique lined Westbourne Grove. Easy to get out of London if driving- M4, and close to Paddington Station (Heathrow Express). Great shops, restaurants, cafes, friendly community. Its also very quick to get to Westfield shopping centre.

It's still retained a 'village' feel if you find big cities impersonal. Your neighbours and local shop keepers will greet you!
Beautiful, graceful buildings; with lots of trees and lovely gardens lift the soul.
It's a multicultural mix with markets like Portobello Road, green space in Kensington Gardens, great transport and best of all: high quality fresh food from all over the world. A foodie's paradise.

Notting Hill is an area close to the north-western corner of Kensington Gardens. It is a cosmopolitan district known as the location for the annual Notting Hill Carnival, and for being home to the Portobello Road Market.
Notting Hill now has a contemporary reputation as an affluent and fashionable area; known for attractive terraces of large Victorian townhouses, and high-end shopping and restaurants.
Since it was first developed in the 1820s, Notting Hill has had an association with artists and "alternative" culture. The area has become a hub for the international celebrity jet-setters.
