Seeking a self contained entire property (ideally)
Hello, and thank you for taking a moment to read this.
What I seek, and what I do not seek....
As it has come up before via spare room with where I have lived the last 5 years, ideally I am seeking a similar quiet, private and rural/semi rural property (the entire property), to settle in and make my new home. Privacy is paramount for me.
Please note, I am NOT looking for a room in a shared home of any sort. As an FYI, my profile may show me as unresponsive to messages, and this is only because I do not reply to the many, many copy/paste room offers I get spammed with every day. This affects my suggested response ratio, unfortunately.
I am also open to short term options whilst I continue to look for the more ideal long term home. It could be a reasonable self contained property, flat, apartment, house, annexe etc (but not a share, self contained means exclusive access, kitchen and bathroom). Property guardianship or similar may be an option too, depending on requirements. This would be for the shorter term, unless anything changed along the way.
Who am I, and what can I offer as a prospective tenant...
As a prospective tenant you'd be hard pushed to find better these days, I'm reliably told. Regarding where I've lived the last 5 years, rent has always been paid in full and on the same date throughout without fail. I am very energy conscious, with an average monthly use of electricity around 300-400kwhs a month (no more than 600 during winter based on past record). And I respect the local ecology and environment.
I also invested sizable sums of money, time and labour in the upkeep and betterment of the grounds and house where I've been living, improving vastly on its appearance and service. I have ample photographic evidence of this to go with my landlord reference, and I can happily provide a reference from my neighbour too.
I am a 43 year old professional male, introverted and respectful. As an Openrent verified tenant as well, it means I have passed all checks (Credit check with no CCJ's, bankruptcy etc, electoral register and I. D verified, along with reference checks etc etc). I am also DBS checked and clear (so no criminal record of any sort with current certificate to prove such as is required for my career). I am more than happy to show any of this information to a prospective landlord, on top of their own checks.
I have no dependants, partners or pets (though I'd happily have a pet if I could, thus I am fine around animals if any are around). I have worked freelance now for over a decade (professional, tv/film industry), with such I have no formal employment reference per sae, though a google search of my name will probably suffice for starters at least, to verify my occupation.
I have a car and I am not phased by remote locations, hence my search radius is quite for and wide. I am not a smoking/drinking/drugs/religious/partying type at all. Just a quiet, humble, respectful and thoughtful gentleman who keeps to himself.
Why am I searching for a new home...
Sadly, the landlords for where I've been living decided last minute to redevelop, expand and split the entire place for more money. As the work is extensive and over an 18 month minimal period, and I must find a new place to make my home with some urgency (as I will soon be booking holiday lets to keep a roof over my head at this rate).
In conclusion....
My search radius is quite wide as I work freelance, so as long as I am within reasonable reach of a main road or connecting train station to London, I'll muddle through fine as I always have done. For now, after further recent training, I am focused on writing with some directing to do later in the year. As I sign into Non-disclosures for projects, I cannot afford to be overheard in conversation at any time and need my creative space mentally and physically (hence privacy is paramount).
If you have anything a little out of the ordinary or somewhere you think might work somehow, please let me know. References, rent and deposit are all available in cash or bank transfer as soon as a place is found, and I do not need to give notice at this point either (by agreement).

Ps) When messaging, please include some of the important details if you're able too, such as...
- Rent rate and bills included or excluded
- If the place will be a blank canvass for me to make a home for myself
- If frequent access would be needed to the property as I'd prefer not to need to be on alert all the time
- And lastly, the position of the property, eg. converted shed in landlords garden, attached to another property etc.
These are all factors of consideration for me, so if you're able to give a rough idea on any of these points, it would really help me gauge suitability/work arounds. Thanks!
