Looking for a homey buddy-up for girl + cat

Hi! I’m Ellie, and I’m looking to buddy up with someone to find a nice 2-bed flat in London over the next couple of months. Ideally I’d move around 12th May, but I’m flexible for the right place.

One important thing: I have a very friendly cat called Dolly who’ll be coming with me, so the flat would need to be pet-friendly and ideally have some kind of outdoor space (garden or patio) and away from busy roads. She’s very sociable and tends to win people over pretty quickly.

My max budget is about £1000 each per month. Lower would obviously be great, but I’d rather find the right place.

I’m mainly looking in South or East London, ideally Zone 2, though I’m pretty open depending on the flat. I work as a journalist and am usually in the office during the week, with some working from home, so I’d need space for a desk. Easy access to Westminster/Kensington would be ideal as that’s where I’m usually based.

Outside work I like reading, cooking, yoga, crafts, gallery and museum trips, and seeing friends. I’m fairly social but also really value a calm, comfortable home. I’ve lived in my current house share for six years and had a wonderful time with the girls I live with but I’m now looking for something smaller that feels a bit more homely.

I’d love to live with someone friendly and easy to get along with – someone who’s up for the occasional chat, shared dinner, or pub trip, but who also respects each other’s space. Ideally it would feel like a relaxed home rather than just somewhere we pass through. Being a cat person definitely helps.

Ideally looking for 2 bed place, but open to 3 bed!

Main priorities for the flat are a double bedroom with space for a desk and somewhere pet-friendly with a bit of outdoor space for Dolly. Other than that I’m pretty flexible and happy to flat hunt together.
