Seeking room/flat for possibly only 50% occupancy

I am a self-employed history writer with a publishing contract who is seeking accommodation but with occupancy possibly only 50% of the year.

I am a UK citizen but have residency in Germany from having previously lived there. I lose this if I stay out of the country for six months, so my plan is to rent and live in the UK, but only actually be resident in Britain for a maximum of six months every year, living the rest of the time in Germany. This means that a landlord would be getting the same amount of money for 50% occupancy. I would be happy to come to this arrangement with a pleasant and friendly home-owner.

I am single, male, non-smoker, no pets, although I like animals. I worked as an NHS cleaner when I was a student, so am very clean as I still remember my training. My preference is for a house with only one other occupant. Wifi and a washing machine would be a bonus.
