Cat owner looking for a new home!

Hey! I’m Flo :) I’ve lived in Leeds since 2010 when I first came to the city to study - I did my BA at Leeds University and then later down the line I finished my MA at Leeds Beckett at the end of 2019. I’m originally from Birmingham and occasionally travel down for a couple of days to visit family.

I am looking for a new place to live as after a number of years, despite our best efforts, my current housemate and I have resigned to the fact that our respective cats will never be chill around one another! The feud has never died down and it’s best for their kitty stress levels that they both get the chance to live in a single cat household.

My current tenancy agreement is due to end mid-August, so ideally would be looking to move end of July- start of August, but I am flexible and it could be earlier.

My cat is called Phyllis. She is 6 years old and I’ve had her since she was a kitten! She is very friendly, chatty, loves to play, comes with a bit of typical cat sass, and likes to take ownership of the best sun beam spots in the house. Because she is a house-trained indoor cat, she does like to have a bit of free reign in the home so she might be a bit nosey and want to see what you’re up to!

I am an experienced house sharer and renter. I’ve found somewhere to live on Spare Room 3 times previously, and each time it worked out really well (I ended up living in each place for about 2/3 years, and still keep in touch with them). I can provide references from past housemates if you would like any (same for the cat!)

Would prefer West Leeds or city centre as I work part-time in Bradford and need the public transport links, but this isn’t necessarily a dealbreaker for the right place.

I also have a desk space at Assembly House Artist Studios in Armley, and often support the events that we programme.

Day job involves digital, arts and culture. I also do some freelance work as a creative producer.

I am mostly pescatarian but easy going when it comes to dietary needs - I have lived with a lot of gluten intolerant and vegan folk in the past, so I am sensitive to and aware of how to make sure that works for all in a shared kitchen space!

I’m a non-smoker but don’t mind sharing with someone that does. I’m 420 friendly.
