Looking for a space to live

My name is Ty, a 37 year old male working in Poole as an Administrative Officer.

I'm looking for a new place to live as my landlady has sold her home. I have been house sharing as a lodger since 2009, and whilst I do want to find my own place, I feel this has become more difficult now and less financially viable.

I am a quiet and reserved housemate. I do spend most of my time in my own space. I am not anti social, my past experiences plus my mental health is what causes me to prefer my own space. I am neurodiverse. It helps my mind if I have a calm and quiet space to go to after work, and I do enjoy the odd chat every so often, especially if we have things in common.

I prefer a room with space, something not heavily furnished, but should at least have a bed and space for a fairly decent sized desk (I have a PC desk). I unfortunately don't move lightly, so storage is ideal although a lot my stuff is already in storage containers. I also rent a storage unit, which affects how much I can afford, so ideally I want to not be paying for that. I used to have a decent sized room which I lived in for around 8 years, by that point it had become a home to me, I was self contained, and of course had lived a lot of my life in that time. Hence why I have a fair amount. I've already had to downsize to move where I am now.

It is very difficult to find a room right now that is practical and sufficient. Most rooms appear to be more designed for visitors than someone to live in. They often tend to lack personal space as well, which I feel is incredibly important and unfortunately the cost just doesn't do justice for that.

I am looking in the Poole area, as long as I can walk to work that is ideal. I don't like working from home, unless absolutely required. Going to office is good for me, even if it can get stressful.

If you're looking for someone considerate and respectful I am certainly the right person for you.

I should probably add that washing facilities are important, and adequate drying space.

I don't really have preferences in who I live with, as long they're respectful and friendly. I don't mind pets, I actually love animals. I don't really mind kids either, as long as I can sleep well at night. Speaking of which, sleep is something I struggle with, it's important that the room I sleep in can be darkened out, and is quiet enough to allow a good healthy sleep as I monitor my sleep quality.

In all honesty I am really just looking for some practical space for myself, and hopefully somewhere calm and safe that my mind can recover from stresses of the last couple of years. I have applied for housing, but there's no guarantee I can find somewhere right now with current demands. But I would like to avoid homelessness, as it really wouldn't look good on my job and my work is very important to me. Financially things have been tight due to my situations over the last year, it hasn't helped. The cost of living has not helped that in any way.

Of course I do keep my mind open, and If you feel you've got something that may interest me, that you think would suit me then by all means reach out. Just remember space and location are certainly primary factors in my considerations.

Thank you for taking time to read my description.
