Dog Owner Seeking London Accommodation 🙂
(Pre-PS) I can afford a bit more rent; I've just put what I would ideally spend! 😁 I will also consider areas outside zone 2. Spareroom didn't make this simple to do.
Hey!
I'm looking for somewhere to live in London that would welcome a tenant with a dog.
I lived in London after graduation before returning to Newcastle for my postgraduate education. I now earn a living as a research assistant and sometimes freelance writer, but my main focus over the last few years has been a book which I hope to have published upon my return to the capital.
I am also seeking a full-time professional position before I make the move.
My dog is a Jack Russell crossbreed and is an absolute treasure. He is ten years old and will appreciate all the new adventures London would bring.
We are both very active, and will be even more so in this new environment, so when at home he usually just likes to chill and sleep a lot. He is very affectionate, and is well trained. He doesn't cause that heavy dog smell, and is quiet in the home setting (the only time he barks is when playing but I tend to keep playtime for outdoors as a result, as he likes to go a bit nuts).
In terms of the accommodation itself, I'm after somewhere stylish and well-maintained. I don't think it's possible to find the perfect place and person, not in a contrived way anyway, but I'm hoping to live with someone who knows how to be both fun and sensible, who likes to hang out but who would also respect my downtime and privacy. I'm not in any huge hurry to move, but would preferably like to be in London by the summer.
I guess the main thing is that the other person is good with animals. I feel most creative when walking or in cafés, so to be honest we won't be at home that much, not during the day anyway. The thought of starting on my next projects in a new (not exactly new, but I've still barely seen London when it comes to it) place is exciting, but it would be cool to have someone to watch films with, or to generally relax with when at home, when my schedule allows for it.
I'm gay but an LGBT household is not essential. Anyway, I feel like I'm rambling, so do get in touch, and I'll try to answer any questions with a bit less waffle! 🙂
