Canadian Ex-Pat Seeking Flat for July 1st!

Hello! I’m Ash, a young professional Canadian Ex-Pat travelling to Edinburgh/Scotland on a Youth Mobility Visa, arriving July 1st. Ideally would be looking for something longer term, but am also open to a short let.

I’m a LG(B)TQ freelance artist as a side gig to my day job, and love art, drawing, painting, music, chill hang outs, movies (!!), gardening/plants, tattoos, and video games. I tend to keep to myself, but would love roommates that will possibly pull me out of my comfort zone and want to hang out/do some activities around the city as I’ll be very new and very confused - but I am also perfect fine being left to my own devices/living mostly alone.

I would ideally be looking for a double room with enough space to stretch out and feel at home, but can also manage with a single room as long as there are shared spares within the home. I am tidy and organized, quite handy (used to be a contractor assistant/home painter), respectful of other’s boundaries and spaces, and tend to be a quiet roomie who loves a good nap. Absolutely open to homes with pets.

As of posting (January 11th, 2023), I have not yet acquired employment in Scotland but am willing to hit the pavement once I arrive, or will before moving have accepted an offer! I will update this posting if this changes. I am also moving with enough savings to support myself for a few months without employment. I plan to work outside of the home, but on the off chance I secure a work-from-home position, I would be willing to discuss that with any potential flat mates/landlords!
