Seeking a substantial-sized double or studio
After 8.5 years in my previous flat, I've been lodging in a cute and cosy mostly self-contained studio for over a year.
While the family whose loft conversion I live in is lovely, the studio is too small for me in the long term (I originally intended it to be a stopgap solution for a few months!). I also ideally need to remove my belongings from storage in friends' homes as soon as possible.
I'm looking for somewhere at least until the end of 2026.
I'm open to a flat or house share or renting a studio. I'm somewhat open to further afield, but my preference would be to stay in or near N8.
If sharing, I'm ideally looking for a substantial-sized double room, e. g. a lounge room converted into a bedroom. As an example, my previous bedroom was 12'6" (3.82 m) x 11'10" (3.6 m). My maximum budget for a room in a shared flat or house would be £1,100, including all bills and council tax.
If it's a studio, it must be a good size with sufficient storage space, an oven, a stove and a washing machine. I may consider studio flats above £1,100, including all bills and council tax.
I'm chatty, friendly and happy to socialise, but I spend most of my time doing my own thing. An extroverted introvert, if you will.
I'm open to sharing with people of any age, but I'm not looking for a party house.
I have a broad taste in music, film and TV (well, not that broad: I'm not into reality TV, but it's okay if you are). I enjoy visiting galleries and museums, taking photo walks and discovering the hidden gems in London and beyond. I also enjoy chilling with friends at the pub.
Day job: I'm currently self-employed and seeking a new "day job", as I was made redundant at the end of 2025.
Creative pursuits: photographer, artist and writer.
Side hustle: pet-sitter (cats, dogs, a hamster, fish, even a couple of peacocks and a flock of chickens!)
I work flexibly and remotely, and hope to continue doing so in future jobs, so my new home must allow me to work from home.
However, I'm often away from home for more than four nights at a time most months due to pet-sitting (locally and further afield) and vacations.
I'm a night owl. However, my most recent flatmate worked nights at home (22:00-06:00), and my two previous flatmates were larks, so despite keeping odd hours, I try to be considerate about noise. I haven't given my current landlord or landlady reason to complain about noise during the night.
I'm looking for a clean, tidy home where everyone's considerate and respectful.
I don't have any pets of my own, but I would love my new home to be open to occasional visits from my local doggo friends, and I would be happy to join a household that includes pets. That isn't a dealbreaker, though.
I'm a vegetarian, but all my flatmates have been omnivores.
