Hello! We're Dean and Tom.

We've known each other a while and we're looking for a proper long-term base — at least the next two years, possibly longer — and ideally someone who wants to genuinely share a home rather than just split a bill.

Between us we've got a big, active social circle spread across Manchester, Hebden Bridge, New Mills, Spain, Australia and… well that’s basically the globe covered there isn’t it. So; if you're new to the city and still finding your people, or well established and always up for new mates, we'd genuinely love to grow our community with even more interesting and fun people. There's always something interesting going on out round Manchester in our group chat. While our social scene is pretty lively, we’re looking for someone who wants a chill, sociable house to round out life by supporting work and health. Lots of opt-in stuff out and about, but preserving the independence to opt-out too by staying home… which me and Tom do regularly!

We’re early 30s, both self-employed: Tom is a designer who gets involved in all-sorts; co-founded Shimmer, a well-received club night, a couple years back and not long back from an adventure in Mexico. Dean is an ADHD coach fusing Buddhism and modern psychology (ADHDharma(dot)co(dot)uk, if you're curious). He’s also got a background in Philosophy and is a bit academic… so, if you need something simple overthinking, he’s your man. Self-employment means we both slide between flat-out busy and needing real rest — so home being a genuinely restorative place is pretty essential - but group cooks, LoTR marathons, and lots of cosy housemate vibes are part of that.

Hobbies, quickfire in no order: music (creating, appreciating, discussing), climbing, getting out into nature, miniature painting and gaming (D&D, Necromunda — yep, NERDS both of us), the pub, reading, cooking, and at least one new thing by the time you've finished reading this.

We'd love someone who's up for becoming actual friends, collaborating on making a real home and stable base, and talking through friction calmly and with mutual care when it inevitably comes up. This'll be an accepting, neurodivergent-friendly, generally weird-and-wonderful kind of house — if that lands as a selling point, not a disclaimer, then this might be the start of a wonderful next chapter… we’re hoping so!
