Need somewhere very flexible, living in France

This is a long shot but it is worth a try.
This year I am hopefully buying a renovation property in France and where I will only need to return to the UK for short periods as I taper down with work in the coming 2 years plus, 6 months per year max.
So I will budgeting money and need somewhere where I can pay when I stay, I can see how this might work for some people, plus they can have some free weekend breaks in Charente France :)
