Active housetrained lovely* 71 year old bloke

Gave up smoking, alcohol and dating many years ago. Of those, the only one I'd take up again would be dating, if the right lady happened along.

I need at least parking space for my little Fiat car which is a road car as well as being used on race tracks for fun by me, for volunteering to take out wounded ex-service people as passengers, and for coaching aspiring race drivers. I also do some work sitting in the passenger seat of more interesting cars ensuring drivers doing "supercar days" don't generally crash the cars or kill each other, or me. To help keep my eye in less expensively than driving in real life on real race tracks I also have a computer car simulator which takes up a little more space than a computer desk, which it also is, as well as a dining table, workbench and more. The simulator comes with headphones, which I can also use for listening to music - assuming people around me don't want to hear these types of sounds.

*Described as lovely by the young lady I helped walk along a very icy pavement in January. She did burst my bubble somewhat though when she called me a lovely *old* man as I'd previously thought I was relatively youthful. Hey hum. I've recovered.

Looking to live near the cricket club at Moorland Road, Poulton le Fylde. Been involved there for 25 years and with local cricket for over 60 years as player, coach, administrator, umpire and spectator. My son was Chairman at Fylde CC for 5 years and is now Secretary to free up time for his new business and for his family. Phoebe, his daughter, is a promising teenage cricketer. I still have a go at playing, for a nomadic team of over-40s, for which I'm highly qualified on age (only).

The race circuit, cricket playing, umpiring and watching get me out and around the local area and the rest of the country a fair bit.

Double bed a must ‘cos I fall out of single ones. Did this recently onto a nylon carpet and got carpet burnt-knees that I last remember having had 55 years ago for a different reason.

Current landlord of four years says (sic): "Just to say that Dave as been a good tenant very quiet and clean and tidy. Rent is paid up to date. The only reason for taking possession back is because my grandson will be moving in. Thanks Stuart. Contact me directly on [redacted by spareroom] - available from me".

Dual English and Australian nationalities. Mostly English, unless we're losing at rugby or cricket to Australia.

Biggest mistake (among many): Failed to accept the offer of a partnership in the best of the various family businesses in 1972, when they opened their 5th bargain goods shop, in Kirkham, and moved out of their little house near Grange Park into the first house on the left in St Annes. They've moved to much bigger and better properties since and owned many shops before selling up. Any guesses? The initial letter of my surname is a clue.

Claims to "fame":
Met the King when he was PoW (not as in prisoner of war).
My Dad taught English to two Liverpool lads called Paul and George. It seems he taught them well.
