Room Wanted – April to July (PhD Research Stay)

Hi,

I’m looking for a room in Oxford from April for three months while I’m in the city for a research stay.

I’m from South Africa and currently doing a PhD at a research institute in Germany. I’ll be in Oxford to conduct fieldwork in the asylum courts, and I’ll be hosted by Oxford Brookes University during this period.

Ideally, I’m looking for a furnished room in a clean, calm household, with good access to public transport or within cycling distance of the city centre. A friendly and respectful flatshare would be great - I’m happy to socialise occasionally, but I also appreciate everyone having their own space.

As a flatmate, you can expect someone tidy, considerate, and easygoing. I’m very used to shared living and mindful of shared spaces. During the week I’ll mostly be out for research or working quietly, so I’m fairly low-key day to day. I don’t smoke and I live a pretty structured routine while I’m working.
