I’m Rufus, a 29-year-old with a PhD in Cultural Heritage, currently relocating to Cambridge for a role at the Oxford Archaeology Unit in Bar Hill. My work is based in and around Cambridgeshire, though it also involves periods away on excavations during the week, so I’m not always around.

I have a strong interest in history and culture, both professionally and personally, and I regularly write and submit academic papers, which often leads to engaging and thoughtful conversation. I’ve travelled widely—including South Africa, Zimbabwe, Peru, Sri Lanka, and Outer Mongolia—and I enjoy sharing stories from these experiences. I also enjoy cooking, particularly Sunday roasts and puddings such as brownies and fruit crumbles.
