Professional seeking comfortable surroundings

I'm posting a lot of information about me, only to be as transparent as possible. That's all.

I'm a senior professional working away from home at a secure facility and I work with the courts. That means I live a very private life. Those who are interested in providing accommodation will be provided with full details, over the phone and by secure email. I am fully DBS checked with no criminal record. I don't do drugs. I have been fully vaccinated against COVID.

I DO NOT require accommodation that fixes a term. I CANNOT sign up to a contract for weeks or months because my contracts are such that I could be thanked and moved on with a week's notice. I would really prefer week to week or month to month - which could end up being several months. From Dec 2018 the total of my unpaid breaks in contracts was only 2.5 months. That's very small over 3 years.

I am a mortgage free home owner. The only reason I take accommodation away from home is for contracts. There can be no guarantor for rent based on my particular circumstances. There has never been a situation that required a guarantor in the last 10 years. What would be the point of me overstaying without paying, when I have my own home? Accommodation away from home is only for contracts. When one contract is done, I have to move to another usually between 1.5 and 2.5 hours drive from home, usually in another city. (I can provide proof of my home ownership and residence for the last 3 years).

If a deposit is required it must be part of the government's DPS scheme. On accepting accommodation, I will need to take time-stamped photographic and video inventory of all items within my range of use. That normally takes about 10 minutes. That's fair to me as it is to landlords.

As I used to provide lodgings for students at one time, I think it's important to know who you're having and what they're about. I will treat your home like I would my own; with respect and care.

Hopefully I can find some reasonably comfortable quiet accommodation to allow me to study and relax after work. I'm particularly interested in accommodation within a few minutes drive of Broadmoor Hospital as a landmark.

I don't play loud music. I keep very much in contact with colleagues by internet and by my own phone, so good unlimited wireless internet access is pretty essential. My work involves much travel. I have a car that would need to park fairly safely at least nearby or on side of street (in a free parking zone). After work I would have a glass of wine or two. I don't have time to cook meals. A working microwave is important.

Because of security and confidentiality requirements in my lines of work, I do not and will never provide a mobile phone or landline number on Spareroom. The only contact number is a non-geographic 0330 number - charged at local rate call. It finds me directly wherever I am. My number does NOT receive text messages. All calls to my number are automatically recorded - to avoid misunderstandings. If you do not wish for conversations to be automatically recorded, you should not call the number on my profile (there are no options).
