Large, Sunny Double Room - Easton ~ 1st Ausgust

Hello! Seeking a lovely soul to join my home. Furnished, large, sunny double bedroom available from 1st August (date flexible for earlier move in). Recently renovated house. All bills, plus extras included (info below), £565 rent, £500 deposit. Please read the house details before sending your response. Remember to include some info about you! Bills included: water, electricity, gas, internet (high speed), council tax, TV licence, weekly clean for communal areas (we also have a house rota!). Plus... your own fridge and loads of bathroom and kitchen cleaning basics - including laundry detergent. Items are generally bulk bought so we rarely run out of anything. We also share costs for stocking herbs and spices, salt and pepper etc, plus some communal food for shared meals.

No pets (sorry), no couples, female preferred, preferably thirties and up!

Home info:
Home is a sanctuary, the vibe is calm, cosy and organised. There are lots of plants and soft lighting. Home should feel safe, relaxed and inspiring. There are little nooks for reading/internet-ing/creating and chilling. Note: no TV. Indoors is non-smoking. Preference for a non-smoker/occasional smoker.

This is a recently renovated home, which I mostly completed myself. It was a mission, learned a lot, very happy to now enjoy the benefits of a fab house. Looking for a lovely soul to join the house, enjoy the space and help look after it with me.

Currently there are three of us in the house (all women in our 30s), plus you!

Housemate preference:
A grown-up and proactive kindred spirit who loves a belly laugh. Someone who contributes towards a clean, warm, loving and positive home environment. Clear and kind communicators please! Self-care and community-care experts welcome! Bonus points for loving a kitchen boogie! Music tastes range from folk, meditation music and world beats to deep house, jungle, soul, reggae and Motown :)

The house functions so we don’t clean up after each other, with the communal areas left as they are found. Aesthetic designer and inner clean freak tendencies welcome! We all love our rest and are considerate of keeping the noise down when people start going to sleep.

The house is generally of a pescatarian/veggie/vegan persuasion and meat cooking smells avoided.

The garden is blooming, plant lovers welcome!

Room/House info:
Recently decorated, large double room furnished with a double bed (+ underbed storage), chest of drawers and massive mirrored wardrobe. There is plenty of room for a yoga mat and incase you prefer even more space, the chest of drawers does actually fit inside the wardrobe! The room is bright and sunny and overlooks the one way street at the front of the house. New double glazing, new carpet.

The bathroom is zen with a gorgeous powerful shower plus bathtub and plants!

The kitchen has a five burner gas hob and a huge oven. You will have your own fridge! plus cupboard and freezer space. There is a little lean-to next to the kitchen with the sink, washing machine, seating area and back door to the courtyard garden (half decked and half paved). We are also on the waiting list for an allotment plot but this may take a while!

Covid: obviously this is an intense time for everyone and as a house we are aware we need connection as well as alone time. We sometimes cook for each other, go for walks or have a movie night. We are also respectful to give each other space to process the weirdness of pandemic and practice self-care. We take precautions to keep each other safe pretty seriously. We follow scientific advice regarding social distancing and hygiene and check in with each other about what works for us as a house. Looking for a new housemate with a similar mindset and awareness!

About the area: Easton has loads of independent shops and cafes as well as great transport links and the cycle path is at the end of the road! It’s a creative area with community spirit, lots of street art and you will hear sound systems every now and then, especially on a hot summer's day :)

5-10min walk (2min cycle) to: St. Marks Rd, The Thali Restaurant, Bristol Sweet Mart, The Public Market, Matter Wholefoods, Este Kitchen, Dela, No.12 Cafe, East Bristol Bakery, The Greenbank, The Plough Inn, The Chelsea Inn, Stapleton Road train station.

10-15min walk (5min cycle) to: Church Road (including: Lidl, Tesco and Aldi), IKEA, Tesco Eastgate, St Georges Park, Lawrence Hill train station, St Georges Park, Greenbank Cemetery and Eastville Park.

The Bristol/Bath cycle path can be accessed from the top of the road and is a smooth 10min cycle into the centre of town!

Parking is pretty limited on the road but currently no permits required. There is space in the front garden to lock up your bicycle.
