Double room available near Lodge Causeway

Ad ref# 8972764

1 furnished double bedroom to rent in a 3 bedroom house near to Lodge Causeway/Barton Fields in Bristol.

The rent is £650 per calendar month to be paid on the first day of the month, with an extra £100 per month for a couple. Monday to Friday is fine too, for £550 per month. Deposit of £400 to be paid upfront. The rent includes use of all common areas of the house.

Rent includes all bills (council tax, gas, electricity etc), Virgin Media broadband, and access to the television stuff. You will have a Virgin box in your room so you watch whatever you like in your room, so if you’re addicted to Ninja Warrior UK, you can watch it in the privacy of your own room rather than having to endure being mocked when watching it publicly. It also means you can get away from the rubbish I watch (I have a slight addiction to cheesy quiz shows). The television package includes all film and sports channels so you can get your fix of obscure Venezuelan dramas and Kabaddi.

The room is available from 15th June 2024.

The house owner:

The house has one non-smoking professional female owner who lives there along with a cat so you pet allergy people best look elsewhere. Although I love animals, the cat is a grumpy sod so unfortunately no large pets can come with you. A hamster or something would be fine though.

The house:

The house has three levels: ground floor with dining room, lounge, kitchen, and washing machine/dryer, a first floor with the double bedroom for rent here, one office/spare room that isn’t for rent, and a bathroom. The top floor is the lady owner’s domain (basically wall to wall Muse fandom, Marvel comics, and way too many shoes).

It's a standard Victorian end terrace with a large back garden. You'll get use of the common areas of the house (kitchen, living room, dining room, garden and bathroom) along with the room for rent. Oh, and of course the hall, stairs and landing, otherwise things may get awkward. Smoking is not allowed in the house but you can smoke in the garden.

Ground floor:

The lounge is furnished as is the dining room. The kitchen was totally redone a few years ago, everything is lovely and non-rubbish. Double oven, microwave, fridge freezer, plenty of storage space, dishwasher for those who are truly lazy. A small extension houses the washing machine and dryer and the recycling bins, which you will be expected to dump stuff in because recycling is sexy.

First floor:

The bathroom has a separate bath and shower and a lavatory. The spare room is full of penguins and elephants and is known as the penguinarium. Seriously. The spare room can be used for occasional overnight guests.

The double bedroom for rent:

It measures 3 metres wide and 4.2 metres long and contains a double bed frame and mattress. There is a Virgin Media box in here so you can watch whatever you want. There is a wardrobe and three drawer chest of drawers. Big window, plenty of natural light in the day, heating is there.

Location

The house is 5 minutes from Tesco Express, a bakery, Post Office, and a chip shop that doesn’t serve horrible chips. One decent Chinese, the other is godawful so never ever eat there. Also a couple of Indian takeaways.

Roadside parking only as the owner of the house has her car on the driveway. It does mean you're always guaranteed a spot though.

There is a large field across the road with rugby pitches - rugby is played there most Saturday in season if that's your bag. The field is also good for running. There is a gym at the nearby Brunel Academy too.

There is a garden with a hammock. There is also a cleaner who cleans the kitchen and communal areas every Wednesday. Fees for the cleaner are included in the rent. However, despite there being a cleaner, this doesn't mean you can leave the place messy! Being a clean person makes you an awesome person and you will be expected to be awesome.

There's a bus stop within two minutes of the house on the 6 route. The 7 route isn’t far, then the 48/49 route is 15 minutes walk away down by the Morrisons-Aldi-Lidl axis of supermarket fun. It's about a 20 minute drive in to town and close to the M32 for those motorway fans. Lawrence Hill station is 2.6 miles away and is on the bus route.
