Does your idea of a fun evening involve eating dal, hanging out in the garden, making sauerkraut, reading with a handsome cat curled on your lap & being in bed by 10pm? Then BOY do I have the house share for you!
I am on the hunt for a lovely lady/non-binary folk to take the place of my current housemate Ellen, who is moving in with her partner. We were strangers when I moved in but found a lovely pace of life together and are now good friends. I'm looking for someone who'd like to build community 🌱 in the house, who would enjoy sharing meals occasionally, and not just strangers who exchange hellos on the stairs. Communication is king, so I am up for regular check-ins if that is helpful.
About me 🪷 31yo queer veggie Buddhist, I love all things outdoors and have an allotment in St Werbs. I also love reading, foraging, cooking and music/festivals. Home is my sanctuary so I am looking for someone who also likes a chilled abode. I have been exploring sober spaces this year: ecstatic dance, sober festivals etc. My big drinking days are over! I work Mon-Thu at the university, and go into the office pretty much every day.
About the CAT 🐈 it is essential that you're a cat-lover as we share the house with Tripp, the friendliest feline on the planet. Although he belongs to the landlord, I will be the primary cat carer when he is away. You would be the secondary cat carer if I am also away (just involves feeding him once a day).
The house 🏠 3 bed new build (read: warm, everything works as it should) on a quiet road off Ashley Down Rd. Lodging rather than rental, but the landlord is likely moving to London so it would mainly just be us. He is a very chill considerate guy. We have a garden, which you are welcome to help plant if you're feeling green-fingered. I've got some sunflowers and sweet peas on the go :) There is a shed to store bikes in. The kitchen is spacious enough for two people to cook in simultaneously, with every gadget you could want.
The room 🛏️ Spacious, bright furnished room on the first floor. Fully furnished with a comfy double bed and lots of storage space. Comes with a desk and chair in case you work from home.
A few quirks:
- The landlord, Art, currently spends about half the time living in the house, but he is expecting to move to London in the next month or so. Then he will just be popping back occasionally.
Rent is £520 + bills, with one month rent as a deposit. Ellen is officially moving out around May 23rd, but her room is vacant from May 9th, so looking for someone to move in asap. Message me if you think you'd be a good fit, with some info about yourself and your expectations of a house, and we can take it from there. Peace and love x
