Room at a 2-acre small-holding by the river Avon

We’re looking for a house mate to join our shared home by the river in Hanham (BS15 3NW). We live in a 2-acre small-holding on the banks of the River Avon, 15 minutes from central Bristol.

We have a furnished double room available at the moment. You will be living with:

Duncan (39) - Sculptor/instrument maker
Marketa (37) - Music teacher/performer
Lucy (31) - social worker
Josh (29) - social worker
Marta (28) - councillor/therapist
Kai (almost 2)
Hazel (Dog) - 8yr old Kepie-cross
Scampi (Cat) - vigorous mouse hunter

We enjoy meals together and sharing our day-stories around the fire of an evening. The house has a big garden and woodlands attached to it that we all take care of and enjoy. It is a quiet sanctuary away from the city, but a cycle-able distance / short drive from the centre. Our son, Kai and the animals we share out home with are an essential part of our community, we all get involved in making our home and garden a great space to live and share time.

We are looking for someone who has experience of, and enjoys living communally and is keen to get stuck in and get their hands in the soil. Equally, it is essential for us that everyone who lives at The Roost enjoys being around children, and is a good friend to our little man, Kai.

The room:
Big bedroom - view into the garden/valley, furnished with double bed with mattress, wardrobe and desk £600/month + bills (£125)

The house has two kitchens, two bathrooms (one with bath tub), five bedrooms in total and a big communal lounge with woodburner. Swimming access to the River Avon is 100m from the garden boundary.

We are all keen on sustainable living. The grounds have numerous veg beds and herb gardens, we produce our own fire-wood and the house has a large solar and battery system.
