We have a lovely room available in a warm, welcoming 4-bed house just off North Street. It's a cosy home on a quiet residential street, but well-connected with buses, and a 25/30 minute walk to the city centre. There's free on-street parking.
We are a mixed gender household so we are ideally looking for a female identifying housemate to keep the balance. We're looking for a like-minded professional, ideally aged 27–35, who works during the week. We're also a partially veggie/vegan household, so would prefer someone who's on board with that or at least considerate of it.
The three of us — Georgia (nurse), and Duncan (puppeteer), and Tom (biotech lab) — have lived here 2 years, 4 years, and 1 month respectively. We get on well, like to wind down in front of the TV after work, and enjoy a drink and a night out now and again. That said, we respect each other's privacy and this is very much a home rather than a party house. We keep it homely, know our neighbours, and genuinely enjoy living here.
The room available is the downstairs room, with a door straight to the garden which gets the sunlight all day. This room shares a wall with the hallway and kitchen, but we are very considerate of noise for this room, and we have recently had heavy soundproof fire doors fitted. The room is unfurnished but the wardrobe and drawers pictured are available if you want them.
The house has a large shared living room, a good-sized kitchen, and a big bathroom with both a bath and shower. There's a low-maintenance back garden that's great in summer, and secure metal bike sheds with space for one bike per person.
Rent is around £514.25/month plus bills (£160 ish varying with seasonal heating costs). The new contract will start on 1st May, with a 2 month notice period to leave. The landlord requires a credit check, proof of affordability, and professional references. No students please. If you're interested, please a bit about yourself and any questions.
