We are accepting applications for one x ensuite double room in our annexe within the grounds of our beautiful house at Bishopstone, in-between Aylesbury and Thame. You will be sharing with one other existing lodger. We are a live in landlord and ordinarily, our lodgers share rooms with us in our main house, but we are offering 2 x rooms in our ancillary annexe to allow us to decorate the bedrooms and facilities of the house. Whilst you will enjoy a superb facility which includes a large kitchen and shared lounge as well as your own ensuite bedroom, it must be understood that the annexe is an ancillary facility and is not a separate tenancy with its own address. As a live in landlord we are therefore sharing the accommodation with you on a spare room basis and are allowed free access to it. We do however value your privacy and restrict our access to cleaning the windows, checking the common parts for condensation, airing the main bathroom and the side entrance way. You are entitled to lock your bedrooms to keep any personal items safe and you are encouraged to take out your own insurance for your personal effects. We also support you by helping you with your laundry - pegging it out to dry and returning it if/when you are working away from home, and we provide a laundry run service during the winter months. We have been successfully renting for a number of years with many lodgers staying with us long term and we believe that this is testament to the support we give you and the facility we offer. We are a family of 3 who live here with 2 lively Tibetan terriers. Currently we have one other lodger staying with us in the house. The available bedroom and common parts in the annexe are currently being renovated but we have offered some photos for your consideration. You will also have a safe outside space for one car and you will overlook and have access to our superb gardens. There are walks from the back of the property into open countryside. The amenities here are superb. The house/annexe are in council tax band G. Your room is fitted out with a double bed, extensive hanging space, table and bathroom furniture including bathroom cabinets. Your room opens to a small enclosed space at the back in addition to the extensive grounds. You can air your bedroom into this space. The open lounge is very large and has 2 x sofas, tv and table and the large, bright kitchen is very well equipped with a luxury range and fridge freezer, dishwasher, sink and open shelving, The entire annexe has wooden flooring to allow easy cleaning. Front doors open out to the orchard. We are happy to support you to enjoy your time here and our testimonials are excellent. We are offering our lodging/licence on a 6 month minimum term with a 3 month break, with an with an intention to extend on a monthly licence thereafter. We expect for a successful rental to extend to at least a year (and more), whilst we are considering longer-term options for our property.
You will be sharing with Marco, who has rented a room with us for a few years. He is a precision instruments engineer who is often away for days at a time. He is a keen cook and has 2 daughters who he visits frequently. He will be available to meet up with anyone shortlisted for interview. Bishopstone offers a peaceful environment for those who wish to be in a countryside setting but with excellent rail links to both London and Oxford. The village has a great pub/restaurant but a car or bicycle is necessary here as there are limited public transport services. It is well placed for a short drive to Stoke Mandeville hospital. In short, you will enjoy a quiet and respectful space here, the facilities of a modern and well equipped house/annexe share with welcoming and friendly people.
